There has been a gigantic Puerto Rican exodus in the last decade. I was born in Germany and was raised in the US but both my parents are PR born and raised and all my relatives on both sides live there. I love visiting and I'm proud to be Puerto Rican, but it sucks not living nearby my relatives. Also sucks growing up in the midwest/West coast where there are no PRs since white people who've never met a single Puerto Rican person before tell you you're not a """real""" Puerto Rican because you don't act like the lovechild of Fat Joe and JLo. And go out of their way t say racist shit because being Hispanic = Mexican = BUILD A WALL. But then I go to Puerto Rico and I get treated like the gringo of the family especially because I have light skin, light eyes, and an Americanized accent when I speak Spanish. And family members make jokes that I'm American and not Puerto Rican. It's probably why the superheroes I most identify with are Aquaman and Iron Fist. Belonging to two culture's but being an outsider to both. Them and Robbie Reyes. Too bad no one uses him in books after that shit last volume.
