Regardless the idea of synergy between film and TV is a hypothetical and no one had thus far managed it. They are really two unrelated industries and it doesn't help that Powerless isn't a comic.

Also it is claimed that they weren't part of Wayne enterprise until after the pilot was shot.

Completely changing the focus between the two pilots was a terrible idea. This was always going to be a nerd show for capeshit nerds, and they're definitely the ones who'd be looking into what the show was supposed to be about.

Changing it from "insurance company" to "Wayne corp" was all the evidence needed to think that 1) NBC didn't have faith in it and 2) it probably wouldn't be good.
