All the changes brought forth by New 52 are still canon. That means that all the Scott Lobdell awful Teen Titans runs are canon.

The only thing Rebirth added was the original Titans back into history, but they're changing heavily their canon making a bunch of new things.

Basically, if readers thought that Rebirth would undo the shitty New 52 Teen Titans continuity, they are wrong.

And while he does HAVE assassins in his League of Assassins, they actually aren't for hire in any way at all, they just kill for his vague agenda.
Shiva's a straight-up assassin, though admittedly she seems to rarely go for contracts that aren't at least "interesting" for her or present some challenge, so it's possible that Slade simply has a higher body count, especially since he's only sort of an assassin and seems like he'll take money to do just about any kind of job potentially involving violence.

Slade never mentioned grant so far, where's this whole deal coming from? When will we learn of the transition?

It's been made abundantly clear by this point across multiple series that (Flash basically outright says it in the Button) Pre-52 and even Pre-Crisis were not some other universes or timelines filled with different versions of characters. They (and the current world) were all one and the same.

The thing that pisses me off about this cross-over is that they're trying to sell a new story banking on the popularity of the old "Judas Contract" story-line, but instead of keeping "Judas Contract" as it is they decided to alter what happened in that book to fit the new canon they want to push making the whole exercise rather pointless.

For me who's an older reader this doesn't leave me on hype, since i'm being pulled out by all the differences. This isn't picking my nostalgia. It's only leaving me pissed off.

For a new reader who's getting to know about "Judas Contract" through this they'd get a rude awakening when they try to read that story-line thinking it'll serve as a sorta of prequel to this one and find there are major discrepancies.
