Grant Morrison in his Action Comics run referenced Superman's death.

Then there was another reference to Superman's death in Scott Snyder's Swamp Thing run.

Both instances were retconned by the "Doomed" cross-over arc in the Superman's books. "Doomed" made it so that Superman was facing Doomsday for the very first time.

So New 52 Superbro never died by Doomsday hands, he only got infected by it.

I figured it out myself pretty quick. As I was familiar with the white snake legend. I tried hinting to you guys, without outright saying it. I didn't want to spoil anything.

The lasso is part of her. She controls it with will, and hand movements. An allusion here to snake charming, and the lasso itself being snakelike in its movements.
