In the original Death of Superman storyline Eradicator was killed when he got blasted by some kind of Kryptonite energy weapon, but as he died he converted the Kryptonite into something that restored Superman to full power.

Eradicator has done a lot of good/evil switching in his time. And with all the timeline fuckery it's not even clear if this is the same Eradicator as the original.

The first solicit for Black Dawn explicably mentioned Clark and Lois were moving to the city, this issue of AC seems to indicate the plan was to always move back because of the commute difficulties rather than the town trying to kill them, which means Black Dawn occurs after this in continuity, presumbly the vacation does too
