2-part finale. Jack and Ashi meet the spirit of the Scotsman who leads them to Aku. A massive battle ensues outside Aku' tower not unlike the one the Scotsman faced but Jack's involvement otherwise preoccupies Aku. Jack is unable to defeat Aku until Ashi pleas to the world via satellite to grant Jack their spiritual strength. Everyone he ever helped and even some villains such as the bounty hunters power him up and he kills future Aku, but not before he tries the same trick to send Jack into an even more distant future. Using the Guardian's portal (which was moved and hidden from Aku by the Shaolin grandmaster), Jack and Ashi appear in the past and witness Jack's past self disappear into the portal. Jack almost instantly kills the weakened past Aku but Ashi, being born of Aku, acts as a spiritual anchor allowing Aku to never be killed. Aku then possesses Ashi and makes her attack Jack. However, in that instant Jack remembers a saying his mother taught him when he was little and realizes that only love can truly conquer hate, not violence such as with a sword. So he sheathes his weapon and lets Ashi kill him as an act of love, sparing her life in lieu of killing Aku and holding her against his body as he dies. Ashi cries on his shoulder and her love reciprocates his and causes Jack to glow radiantly which utterly incinerates Aku. The decayed and evil tree over the pit of hate shrivels and a tiny blossom sprouts. Jack returns the sword to the gods and goes on to rule his kingdom peacefully with Ashi.

Eh I'm fine with this ending. If only because I've enjoyed this ride so far. I think the season only sucks if you're one of those "SUPER DEEP" kind of people who expect everything from a grand finale 10 episode season. I personally came into this expecting nothing since I wasn't really all that hype for Samurai Jack S5 until I realize it was airing, then I watch a bit of the first episode and enjoyed it, and kept on with it. Now we're at the end and I'm just happy to see Gennedy end his show. He did say not everyone would be happy.

It's a play on the SW EU where the Empire practically collapsed over night as soon as Palpatine kicked the bucket due to lacking a heir. In addition to the admiralty board holding too much political power in the absence of a strong senate. It's a shame Disney mostly did away with it, I particularly like the whole Warlord China theme. I primarily wrote it just to envision Jack fighting Modula at some point.
