Use the time stone instead of whatever they used. (soul?)

Allows them to show Ultron completely taking over without fucking up the extended universe. Can also pull the "Ive had to watch my friends die over and over and over, and now I have emotional trauma" arc onto someone.

Also allows you to split the team at the post finale: QS died to Ultron, but the team finally managed to beat him? Cap / Wanda / Hawkeye want to use the stone to save him, no one left behind, Tony / Bruce / Vis don't want to risk fighting Ultron again -> oh gosh civil war lead in.

And the use of the stone as a key mechanic of the film instead of a late game McGuffin more naturally introduces the earth-bound avengers to the concept of the gauntlet.

Ultron doesn't quip.

Fix Ultron. Just fix everything. He's terrible.

No Quicksilver death. It's pointless, Whedon probably thought he was so clever with the misdirection, but killing off a new character (to the movies) that we barely learn anything about just to try and say "Look we kill chatacters too! Consequences!" is lame.

Remove Thor pool shit or rework it heavily so it makes any sense whatsoever. HEY WANNA COME WITH ME TO THE POOL OF CONVENIENT EXPOSITION AND SEQUEL HOOKS THAT I NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE???

Rework the whole final act. Yeah like Ultron is actually gonna drop a city and kill everyone. Yawn. Maybe make the title actually accurate and have Ultron take over the planet for some amount of time or something actually interesting. Not cheesy end of the world shit.

Have someone, anyone, give Tony shit for almost destroying the planet. The end the movie as best buds still. What the fuck? Wouldn't it have been a cool lead in to Civil War if they were already on edge?

Cut Black Widow/Hulk romance. Does nothing for the movie and isn't interesting or really believable. More cheap writing by Whedon.

Honestly I know people shit on Avengers 1 for the directing style, but the script itself is a masterpiece in comparison to the sequel
