Sega has pretty much rebranded themselves from video game makers (in the west, in the east they make a ton of gambling machines) to a full-time publisher. Their publishing wing is surprisingly good at funding quality games.

They own Atlus, for instance. They also publish the majority of Platinum's games.

So I think it's only the end of Sega as a developer. Or maybe it's the end of people caring about them in the west outside from a tiny logo at the start of their Persona game.

Is there an official listing of the timeline? The Olympics games come off more of a multi-verse thing IMO. Like how the games and comics are different but canon in their own universe. So Eggman is fast in some and others, not.
