What's wrong with Opal? Granted, I think she and Bolin are not meant for each other at all, but I felt like they both equally fucked up in their relationship (well, him a bit more what with working for a fascist that got her family taken hostage and not listening to her beforehand), and while he was a blundering idiot to her that didn't listen, she also was very misunderstanding of him and the danger she put him in with no real regret after. In general they're sweet but not believable as anything other than settling for the two of them.

While I hate either of them with Mako and actually ship Korrasami, I think them being with Bolin too would be pretty cute. Why not? Korra's the Avatar, she's loved many different people. They're both also bisexual so that knocks out the issue of them ever missing men, while still giving each other great sex and a great relationship. Both get along better with Bolin than they did with Mako and genuinely seem to like him and have fun with him, he should definitely father their kid.

it's one of the only threesomes I don't hate, other than chel/tulio/miguel. usually i can't stand that polyshit because it's so unrealistic that it wouldn't be totally uneven, unbalanced, or blow up with drama, but i could see them working it out. bolin's a simple guy, asami's reasonable and grounds korra, and they're all fond of each other. don't see a lot of room for drama. the only reason it might not work is because they fear mako will commit suicide.

They either were always split up, hanging out with minor characters, or ready to jump the bones of an ex as soon as the other ex was out of the way.

Bolin was always off doing his own thing with Verrick, Kuvira, one of his girlfriends, or the Bei Fongs. He hardly spent time with Korra after that date.

Asami was the clingy love interest that had a few awkward platonic moments with the others. "I'll play pai sho with you." I don't think she even spoke to Korra in S2, and never interacted with Bolin in S4.

Neither her or Korra spoke to the boys for 3 years, reaffirming that they never had a close bond beyond love interest. When they finally meet up in S4, they have a brief group hug, then split up again to go on a not-date with Prince Wu or some shit. Again, Korea barely has ant moments with Bolin, not even a final good bye, because he's been friends with Verrick longer than anyone in the Krew save for Mako.

These people never felt like a family like the original team avatar. Just a bunch of hormonal teenagers that dropped connections faster than random Facebook friends.
