Wait wasn't DC Rebirth supposed to be some great boost and return to greatness? As far as I see coming off such a relauch/reboot they sucking hard. Batman and Flash up there because event. But other titles seem to be no better off. They undid the new 52 to not have any real I'll improvement in sales. Supersons and Trinity sucking hard for titles that tossing in Batman/ Superman cast. Wonder Woman is a mess and Rucka already jumping ship. The Super family books suck hard. Justicd League is so bad. Poor Aquaman,GL, ...these books were way better during the new 52. I provided an example of how it can directly affect the reader. It does change your reading experience if you see that you have to buy digital because they're not printing trades so you have to spend more money than if you waited for it to be on Amazon or IST. Or if you would prefer to track down the floppies because you don't like digital. Or hell if it's very successful maybe you can wait for the omnibus instead of even getting trades because you know they'll put a nice collection together since the book sold 50k+.

Maybe if you're a pleb it makes no difference but if you actually have a preference about how you'd like to read your books it is important to know how they're doing.

Knowing about sales allows you to understand the health of a book. And the health is what determines the types of formats the book will ultimately be available in and allows you to decide how you'd like to purchase it.

EX: Knowing that New Super-Man doesn't sell well means that it might not get fully collected in trades (only things saving it arethe fact that Yang is kind of a decently known name and the rest of Rebirth is doing well enough that it might support it). Therefore you will likely have to decide between floppies and digital to get the whole thing. That changes the amount of money you'll spend and how you'll store it and shit.

If you did not pay attention to comic sales numbers you wouldn't know any of this and I don't know how you'd be making decisions in the long run. I don't understand how this is some kind of foreign idea to you or why you think it's stupid.

How many people usually return? At least the number has already been reduced from the actual sale by 10% because of that. I don't know how common returning comic books is though so not sure how accurate it is but it seems kinda much.

I may remember it wrong but i don't think R:SoB went under 30k so I would at least expect the same numbers for this.

Returns aren't the problem. The reported decrease is generally very close to the real number. The thing is that after returnability ends retailers will decrease their orders more in general.

It will go under 30k probably by #10 but that's not bad. Just has to stay healthy and not have too many drops once it gets there. Cancellation level is like maybe 15k, but that also depends on sales expectations and shit. I don't see it getting that low anytime soon.

Holy shot that secret empire number is actually terrible. If you go by past box promotions they add about 100k. It wouldn't have even made the top ten without it

Now, I'm not going into every one of /co/'s dozen plus sales threads each month, as that's just crazy.

I think they'll keep it around even if it goes low. It's a perfect book to sell to schools and libraries.
