Funeral Pyre is a pretty stupid but fun team-up story, like a cheap action movie.
Madness tries to do too many things at once and kinda crushes under their weight at the end. But the sequences with Venom going fucking nuts were fun.

I really like The Madness a lot. You're right that it tries to do too much, but I think the overall story is good. The scenes with Venom going full on psychotic and the creepy romance stuff is just twisted enough to be fun.

The next Venom mini series is The Enemy Within. But first, he has a couple guest appearances in other books.
First up is Darkhawk #35 and 36. Its round 2 for Venom and Darkhawk, after fighting on the island.

Next up is Iron Man #301 and 302.
Previous to this scene, Deathlok investigates a rumor on the internet that points to Stark Enterprises owning licenses of work that he did at Cybertek that was perverted into weaponry. Unable to wipe the info remotely, he decides to confront Stark personally. A newscaster breaks a story about Stark Enterprises being involved in environmental damage, bribery of government officials, kickbacks, chemical and biological weapons and organized crime.

I miss it along with leather longcoats and jackets over costumes. Oh, and leotards of power. Psylocke looked sexy and badass. Would've posted a pick, but it's a story-thread so nope.
And if it goes for Venom, I'm surprised that nobody called Eddie's dad a complete douche for how he treated him since birth and after he disowned him after the whole Sin Eater incident.
Wished someone did an arc where he gets verbally nailed for all of this.

Well, that was KINDA addressed in Venom: Dark Origin. But Carl Brock was written drastically different from how we see him in the ASM 375 flashbacks and in Lethal Protector. So I didn't include that scene, for sake of continuity.

We are continuing on in a new thread, where we pick back up with The Enemy Within mini series: >>92006316
>>92006189
>Dark Origin
Absolutely nobody acknowledges Dark Origin. Not even comic writers at Marvel since the whole darn thing was made when Spider-Man 3 was around and tried to make Eddie as much of an asshole as movie Eddie.
Needless to say nobody accepted this.
But honestly, I'd like something like an arc where like...spirits of dead people are coming around the US due to someone using some bizarre arcane artifact. Said spirits cause mayhem, and the late Mrs. Brock is after Edward Brock Senior because the latter treated her son with disdain over something Eddie wasn't at fault.
>>92006357
>and tried to make Eddie as much of an asshole as movie Eddie.
Well, lets be fair, Eddie was never a particularly great guy. He's fun to read, but he's a complete psychopath.
>But honestly, I'd like something like an arc where like...spirits of dead people are coming around the US due to someone using some bizarre arcane artifact. That's an interesting idea. How would Venom actually fit into the story?
>>92006357
>Absolutely nobody acknowledges Dark Origin. Not even comic writers at Marvel
Marvel's writers rarely acknowledge anything before Paul Jenkins' 'The Hunger' story in Spectacular Spider-Man vol 2. As far as most current writers are concerned, anything before that doesn't exist.
But if we actually sit down and look at Dark Origins, Wells did a pretty good job sticking to continuity. The only thing he really changed was Brock's dad. Everything else lines up pretty tightly with continuity.
