Initially I was just salty they didn't get Lynn Collins. At the time I thought she was being considered and it seemed like such a good fit. Gal Gadot can act, she just doesn't have a lot of range. But she doesn't need to have a lot of range she just needs to play Diana well. Gadot is EXCELLENT at face acting (not posing, like Kierra Knightley tends to do) which is very important in these movies, look at Robert Downey Jr, he is also great at face acting. Watch some of the dialogue scenes from the trailers and watch her scenes from BvS. There is a definite character shift and growth. The Diana in these trailers is naive, uncomfortable in man's world, but the Diana that talks to Bruce is wizened, she's jaded and more flirty and independent. Those are great examples of an actor that is capable and talented. In all of her close up fight scenes the face acting is so incredibly believable. Her delivery may be a little wooden at times, but I think it's incorrect to say she just can't act.

I don't even have a problem with how she looks, I'm already used to 90% of actresses not putting any work into getting more muscular. Her costume is great and her face is pretty, so in my book her look is alright.

It's her fucking acting that ruins it for me. Gadot is seriously the worst actress I've ever seen in capeshit and it's not like blockbuster acting is that demanding. She can't emote, her line delivery is awful and I have to concentrate to understand what she's saying most of the time. What the fuck were they thinking? Better yet, why wasn't she given intensive acting lessons? It's not like WB is some struggling indie company, they can afford an acting coach to be with her on-set. Not even David Fincher could get a good performance out of her in the awful stage she's in.

Fucking this. I checked out the last trailer this AM, and there is a lot in it I wish the DCEU had, but there is also stuff in there that just makes me roll my eyes. Personally I'm hype Diana is finally getting a movie, and on some level want to support it, so she doesn't get dismissed as a character that can't draw crowds, but I really hope some of the reshoots are to remove ties to the universe as a whole so 3 years from now the movie can just be enjoyed on it's own. I worry Gadot is just going to be in over her head talent wise and bring down every scene she's in. As has always been the case, I want to love the DCEU. Thus far they've failed to please me. I'm a skeptic of the brand at this point, but feel it's unfair to load my being frustrated at Snyder on Jenkins, so I want to give the movie a chance.
