I grew up collecting the comics in the 90s. I kinda stopped around 2010 but I'm actually sad to see them go. I had a lot of fun memories with my sister as we read the comic out-loud in funny voices and laughed, reading them in the grocery while I waited for my parents to finish shopping, or going to the local comic store with friends to buy new issues. But do you think SoJ's CEOs were thankful for Kalinske's input? Big fat -nope-. It reached it's climax when they basically dropped Sega Saturn on his lap and went "you figure out what to do with it. Oh yeah, and we'll be launching it sooner than scheduled." He was literally forced to resign from the company.

Though to be honest, Sega's owner later offered him to come working for his other company.

In short, yes, there always seemed to be some bitter resentment which caused Sega of Japan to make some pretty retarded decisions.
