Really awesome way to set up the new season. Establishes a status quo that jack has been in for decades and his guilt and psychosis in the pace of the episode, plus a really great fight and some rock-solid visuals.

Tremendous episode. Fantastic wordless action for most of the episode paired with a pretty good scene to show how Aku is coping with the state of things. Everything clicks here. First inner Jack scene is definitely the most powerful.

Another episode of fantastic visuals with somewhat less stellar action sequences. Little moments like Jack interacting with doggo and the Daughters discovering the deer & buck in love were great.

This episode is 90% raw scenery porn with some character interactions. The only things that really matter are the first and last scenes, and that Jack & Ashi go through some ordeal in between. Really beautiful episode though.

Scotsman/Aku scene ruled, everything great about the Scotsman and more rolled into 6-7 minutes with more good Aku moments. The middle was neat but perhaps a bit long. The factory scene had nice animation but could've been paced better.

Raw fanservice, but I enjoyed it. All the cameos were given justice, I think it helped make Ashi into a more likable character. This is the kind of episode only a show that was revived after 13 years could have. Again, the final scene could've been drawn out a bit more.

Flashback was really good and showed Baldwin's Aku is great. Loved the juxtaposition of what Jack & Ashi must do to beat their demons and get ready to defeat Aku. Notably good animation in this one. Again felt a little rushed.

Great action, great character moments, great setpieces, and the way they slowly hinted the romance throughout the season & episode only to just throw it right at us at the end was PERFECT.

I think with 12 episodes instead of 10 this would've been a homerun. Trending to end strong.
