Buddy, thats not really what the overall tone of the story is.

The whole point of the Guardians is they are all people who have suffered and lost. But they all learn to move beyond it and do something good.

Rocket has a shitty past, but so does Gamora, and Drax and Quill have their sad histories too.

Rocket is just the surliest of the group. But he isn't suicidal. In fact he's usually the one who is against suicidal actions, as shown by being the last to be on board with their plan in the first movie.

Rocket is practically the face of the guardians of the galaxy. They aren't going to kill the most well known character. Especially since its not like they can do a legacy thing with Rocket. They can have a new iron man or captain america, but they can't have a new rocket.
