Really, my only complaint is that this was done in the last 10 episodes of the show's existence.

I still think season 5 is fantastic, but I have to question Genndy's decision to focus on this angle.

I think Genndy thought that Jack and Ashi's relationship wasn't "strong" enough, so that when it inevitably gets broken by Aku, we won't feel for Jack as much as we would have.

I just hate this is another monster of the week episode so late into the season, we didn't get any new info on the Scotsman and his daughters, Scaramouch, who that mysterious little woman was, Aku, etc.

I didn't think Genndy could pull it off in 20 minutes, but I bought it and even found it pretty cute. Good timing, good sense of comedy. The worm monster itself was eeeeeh, but Ashi and Jack's ways of fighting him were great. The cat fight was better.
