I've been sort of going nuts thinking about Hall of Egress lately so I'm gonna talk about it.

It seems clear to me that the dungeon itself had a motivation- it was not just something Finn wandered into and stuff. It wanted Finn to do something particular, and when he screwed up it sent him back to the start to do thing right, and when he finally did what it wanted (which was apparently cutting ties to his identity? Judging on him leaving Jake and BMO, shedding his clothing, and wandering the earth) it physically moved position from a forest to the desert to meet him again and set him free- shit literally moved itself in an impossible way to release Finn.

So what the hell was its game? Is it like a place designed to trap those unworthy forever while the enlightened ones are set free? I would say I want to know who the hell set this shit up, and why, but that would probably make the episode a lot less cool.

Fucking crazy episode, I didn't give it enough credit when it first came out. Poor Finn getting psychologically tortured out the ass just because some dungeon is a prick, the way he had to leave everything behind really made me feel for the lad.
