Hey guys, it's the RR guy. I'm sad to say that there are no new pages today. Due to finals I haven't had the time to put any more writing down. However I have also made a post on a recent writefag thread asking for second opinions on the story. I have been informed I am writing a book, not a comic. Now I have a bit of a decision to make: Finish the writing and edit down later or Edit down now to get a feel of the flow for the rest of the issue. However one thing's for certain, my original plan of keeping it down to a 22 page comic probably isn't gonna happen.

I'll still be here to spitball, just a bit disappointed there's no new content form me.

For GG it's already outlined. They're more vignettes, little four page self contained stories in a sunday comic format. And most importantly

GG doesn't have any super powers, she's in the Robin tier where she's just super acrobatic.

But now her center of balance is off and she has to find other ways to compensate.

I think GG strips work best when there's a punchline or a setup. They're mainly just short little things with immediate payoff most of the time.

Good to see this thread still up when I wake up.

I've doodled a few designs for these threads but those don't tend to survive past a thread or two without coming up with a ton of conceptual info to go with them. Sometimes you just need to throw a character at the thread and see if people want to catch it, I think. I'm not one to force an idea unless I'm crazy passionate about it.

What's everyone working on at the moment? We've got Van working on some comics, and RR guy spitballing some ideas... Does anyone have story concepts, characters, or anything like that they're working on?

Maybe I should try to come up with some development questions... I'd ask my usual "what are some people or groups your character was affiliated with before the story started?" but that's normally the first thing you guys come up with. It's a great thing to know for plot and conflict hooks.

Another little thing to help get the convo going is something I do to keep my brain thinking: make a few Newspaper headlines based on /coc/ character. I try to make a few more subtle ones but it seem the best to me are the less subtle ones.

If you establish a basic connection - even a sentence - between them and RR, you can keep it on hand and use it to inform problems, arcs, and interactions in the future. Not to mention some minor character-development goals RR might have. I usually like to establish one rival person/org, one allied person/org, and then one extra thing. The first allies are often family members or someone they helped in the past, but it's still a good way to fit them into a world and lay some interesting groundwork for character goals/future plot points.

I don't tend to go too deep into them when they're first made, but it's something to explore as you go. Helps make a character feel less like they didn't exist before the story and wouldn't exist without it.

My main comic is West Tree Academy of Heroes, it's pretty much a passion project for me that I also hope to turn into a cartoon someday.

Saudra's sister, Sarah, is one of the main characters

That being said, I am also hoping to work the story of Saudra into it too, and that is coming soon enough.

Also, what I find funny is that I found out today that I was working on saudra comics before I started my main comic.
