Exactly. If anyone ever claims that D*sney doesn't pay Diamond under the table to goose the numbers in their favor, just point to this. There's literally no way you can justify this. It's blatant favoritism to make it look like Marvel did better than they actually did. I know for a FACT that Superman outsold Secret Empire by a significant amount yet it's not even in the Top 10.

>>92106993
Im not trying to inject politics here but it really seems like "progressives", wheteher its politicians, or news programs or corporations are obsessed with image management rather than actual results. marvel doesnt gain one penny from manipulating these numbers. They just save face and that really seems to be what motivates progressive entities/people. Its weird.

DCEU movies actually make good money, specially on DVD and merchandizing sales.

I'm not even a fan, but fair is fair. Normies and edgy kids eat it up.
>>
As for Nick Spencers Twitter it really needs to be pointed out that Marvel bundled SE and got full credit for it while DCs variants were counted as separate entities but sold the same story. DC btfo of marvel here and it seems really clear to anyone that follows these things. Outright lying/spin to save face. Sad!

that's not actually pretty bad though, DC has 2 issues of a crossover story arc Marvel literally has the relaunching of the X-Men and the start of an Event.
>>
>>92107384
X-men Gold had actual controversy. The "controversy" for Secret Empire is just a bunch of butthurt MCUfag tumblrites that don't actually read comics screaming into the void about how "they made Cap into a Nazi!"
>>
>>92107429
Thw problem is that marvel didnt plan for x-men gold to be controversial
>>
>>92106612
Two different price points. One is 3.99$ and the other $2.99
>>
>>92107692
BUT it's worth noting that these are pre-order numbers. Secret Empire's "controversy" was something that existed before the comic came out meaning it would have effected sales if controversy does sell comics. On the other hand, X-men Gold's controversy didn't happen until after its release, so it wouldn't have effected these numbers at all.

Yeah, as established in other threads in the last week, Funko included Secret Empire #0 in their Marvel Collector Corps box last month, which usually get counted to the chart total.

I have to come and laugh because the D.C. Fanboys were just SO obnoxious this month, crowing about how "their company" (lol like they own any stock in it) would blow away the competition after they had ONE month on top. I'd say I hope they learn to eat crow but we all know they'll just do what they always do, say the stats don't matter this time because "their company" didn't "win" this month.

Basically, retailer orders too much and then is stuck with the product. Take that $9.99 issue of Amazing Spider-Man #25 a few months back. It made a killing in the sales charts right?

Well, guess what my LCS (and it's entire chain of stores in IL) are giving away on FCBD for FREE? Amazing Spider-Man #25. They are actually giving this $9.99 comic FOR FREE because they have so many damn copies of the comic stuffed on their shelves at various locations in IL (25 copies per store, 7 stores together in the chain. That's 175 copies being given away for free.

The problem was never Nazi Cap. No one with a brain thinks that will last. The problem is Nick Spencer being a dick on social media. He has been such a dick that the outrage over his behavior has used the stupid storyline as an excuse to pile on. If they were honest, people just hate the cum bucket and the bike that he spews on social media.

FFS. This guy is so toxic Disney had to step in and make Marvel issue a press release apologizing to fans for the story.

Disney needs to add clauses in the Marvel contracts, regarding their public activities affecting the perception of the company. Especially social media and convention appearances. He is not just representing himself on Twatter. He is representing his work for Marvel and the company. If he abuses marvel fans, he needs to pay a price for his behavior by being fired.

FFS. Disney didn't even have to step in over the hatred of Peter and MJ splitting up. This is very serious when the parent company steps in when usually they could care less what Marvel does.

>>92109942
Marvel has never outsold DC in graphic novels despite publishing more. Hell, they struggle to overcome Image most of the time.
>>
>>92109216
I dont get this meme on so many levels.
1- Moore is a dickhead hypocrite. As you know he doesnt want anyone using "his" characters, even though he himself does it regularly when working for others, or himself, (LOEM for example). I never understand Moore or his defenders just because Ive read many Moore comics and many are lifted like the Watchmen or someone else created them and hired Moore, or he borrows from historical fiction and real characters...like, all the freaking time.
2- What terrible thing has DC done with the Watchmen? They keep it in print in different collectible formats, and they tried a small pre-watchmen imprint, which i support. I would love a regular Watchmen imprint of titles full well knowing the stories and art may never top Moores. But thats just me.
3- And DC actually had a superb, superb, superb movie adaptation made which no one thought was possible and which turned out nearly perfect even with and because of its deviating from the series.

So I dont get it? Why do people shit on DC for this? What am I missing?
>>
>>92109481
