You know, we might as well just /thread this now, since I already posted the best one.
black and yellow suit best suit
>>92096682
Since you already posted best armor I'm gonna post my favourite of the MCU armors, which seemed pretty inspired by that anyway.
I'm a sucker for demonstrable compromises between utility (in this case portability and speed/ease of armoring up) and the attendant downsides (weaker armor, fewer weapons, can't fly).
Also it just looks really cool when drawn as a comic book armor.
>>92096682
Cold Iron Elfkiller
>>92096682
Since you already posted my #1 favorite then I'll post my second favorite design.
Iron Man Mk 6 hands down
>>92096682
Anything before the stupid modern copy pasted faceplate/'realistic' look that was cemented in Extremis, but primarily the modular suit
>>92097208
Jesus fucking christ that thing is a monstrosity.
Bleeding Edge is a nice, sleek modern look that I really enjoy, but I kind of love the look of the Ultimate armor, since it really does feel like it's something that might not be too far away from really existing if we had supergenius inventors, and isn't as sleek and compact as other designs while not looking ridiculously boxy and like it'd get in its own way.
>>92097839
Best Iron Man villain ever
Accept no substitutes.Modular armor's good too.
>>92096682
NO MAN ESCAPES THE MANHUNTERS
>>92097913
>not Jack Daniels
Really enjoy the NOW/Gillen/Land? armor.
>>92097765
This one.
Really most Iron Man suits would be 100% improved by taking away that stupid mouth slot. Why the fuck it took them so long to figure that out is a mystery to me.
>>92098287
I like the mouth slot, it makes him look solemn and i imagine his voice sounding really cool like a megaphone
>>92096682
I say this as a child of the 1980s myself who mostly loves the 1980s aesthetic: I will never understand the fondness for the silver centurion armour. That neckless look never sat well with me. The armour which immediately followed it was in my opinion a much more appealing look.
This said, the Extremis/Civil War era armour gets my vote. Just the right combination of sleek and chunky. Not too over-complicated, it updated the classic Iron Man aesthetic handsomely and gave us one of the most iconic of looks.
>>92098287
It de-personalizes him too much. Artists have to be able to convey emotion through their characters, and having a main protagonist whose face appears to be a featureless metal plate robs them of too much pathos. You have to give him at least a minimal amount of facial features in order to convey some humanity or else he becomes a less-compelling protagonist.

Turning Tony into a carbon copy of 616 really was the worst thing that happened in Ultimates 3. I miss you, private jet armor.
>>92097925
MY CRACKA! this^ so much this, those back up batteries, the recharging roller skates, the plexi-glass eye covers, having to flex his pinky to fire his repulser ray, this micro transistor powered armor was the one of the best things ever made by Stark 616
>>92098429
>>92097925
>>92097765
My top 3, in order.
>>92096682
Does it have roller skates? No? Then it's shit.

>All these Silver Centurion fans
MAH NIGGAS!
I miss when Iron Man used to have abs.
And although i did really like the Extremis suit it feels like everything after that has just been trying to reinvent the wheel instead of actually making a NEW suit.
If they want to go ahead and update Iron Man's look again i'm fine with it, but make it look actually different from what was before.
>>92096682
The War Machine armor if it counts.
>>92096682
This one because of the DBZ-tier power-up.
Silver Centurion being trashed by Firepower was one of my favorite "oh shit" moments as a kid.
And then the fucking hype when Tony comes back with a new armor that absolutely destroys Firepower!
Also I loved the force shields on the wrists.
>>92098429
Yeah, I love the Extremis look so much. It's just so sleek and sexy
>>92097961
Kek.
>>92096682
Yeah, Silver Centurion is my favorite. Also was a plot point in my favorite Iron Man story, #200.
>>92097818
>limited flight time and ammunition
>required a 100 man support team
>tony needed surgical implants and nanites to even control it properly
>tony had to cover himself in impact gel to wear it safely
>took a long time to assemble and deploy
>battle damage would actually stick around between issues
the ultimate iron man armor was like something out of an 80s real robot anime and it ruled
A personal favorite.
I strongly suspect Silver Centurion is mainly as popular as it is due to its color scheme.
>>92103073
Man, I should really re-read all the old Ultimates stuff. It was pretty cool, honestly.
>>92103073
Well, in 'Ultimates' anyway.

Did ANYBODY like this version?

Bruh I barely read comics and this is already my favorite

How do you guys like canon MCU Silver Centurion armor?
To my mind, not enough actual silver, especially in the torso.
>>92103073
ultimate iron man was kinda boring though. and ultimate antonio "retconned into a boring white name antony" stark was a 1 dimensional cunt.
>>92103162
the fuck
it looks like an Eva unit going beast mode
To be honest for me, the armour from the 2008 Iron Man movie is pretty comfy, not because it looks particularly cool or anything, but because we got to see that process of each part being built
For me, seeing the mechanisms behind the weapon has always been fascinating, and the movie captures the process nearly perfectly
I wish this hadn't been wasted, it's gorgeous
Is your body ready?
>>92104876
Suitcase Suit from IM2 is superior as a Silver Centurion I think. At least it has the little pauldrons. If they'd been able to incorporate those pauldrons into the suitcase suit I'd have thought it a perfect representation of Silver Centurion for the MCU.
As it is, I think that the MCU Centurion looks like trash.
>>92105257
>Is your body ready?
For a shitty sanitized, generic Iron Man armor with none of the traits that made the original Ultimate armor unique, interesting and leave it as literally just another one in a sequence of MCU "main armors"? I mean, if you colored the silvery bits red and gold I'd struggle to distinguish it from his other main armors in previous films.
Way to waste the Ultimate design.
Can we post other armor we like?
>>92106152
The og was much better
The other iron man armor rhodey wore
Dat bleeding edge armor doh
>>92105134
The entire MCU is built on the back of that one armor up sequence.
They seemed to go the extra mile to sell the audience on the suit.
Then when everyone fell in love with Stark they doubled down on the man instead.
>>92105134
>>92106738
The first Iron Man is and will always be the best MCU film.
>>92106766
Agreed. Still one of the best superhero movies of all time.
>>92106766
Dude, it's just so great
Call me a shill, but I never really disliked any of the mcu films
However, if I had to pick a favorite, it's that one
This is probably when it became my favorite.
>>92097471
If iron man doesn't look like this in 2020 we riot!
>>92096682
everything Adi Granov draws is pure sex
>>92097765
I remember this one being the most popular in the 90's since it was the cartoon suit. But I always though it looked too much like a superhero costume and less like a metal armor.
I liked the early 90's one that came just before this one.
>>92100624
This one was my favorite. Simplified design that kept all of the classic look with some raised sections to make it look like a bulky armor and less of a fabric superhero costume.
>>92106978
Then that one issue where Firepower just tore parts off the suit off like it was foil.
>>92105141
This looks like something out of Mass Effect with an Iron Man faceplate out of the MCU photoshopped onto the head.
>>92108634
The classic suit was canonically fabric-like, tho. Worn under his clothes and everything. Most of the later suits actually feel like a downgrade when you consider this. Even the bleeding edge still had him hauling plates and shit around, despite having half the suit in his bones.
>>92108689
It's the main quality of Jobinium. The material Stark prefers when building his suits. Tougher than adamantium when the going gets tough, but weaker than tin foil when the tough get going.
>>92105257
Ultimate armor in the MCU is kind of pointless considering what makes the Ultimate armor unique in the first place. It's the shapes, not the colors.
>>92108767
Yeah, butMass Effect stuff looks cool
>>92104876
The design is good, but yeah they really messed up with the color scheme.
>>92103073
Everything about the OG Ultimate Iron Man suit was insanely cool. The concept of Stark having a "nano-fleet" inside his body so he could link himself to the suit's systems was pretty rad and it led to one of the biggest "oh shit" moments whenhe used the nanites he gave Black Widow to fuck her shit up when she went traitor.
