Oh yes, that's another pottery thing. "Jackie? We make a pretty good team, I guess" with his dad vaguely mirrors Star's "I choose to have a crush on Oskar, I guess" with her mom.

Of course, it's nowhere near the same, as Marco actually has real feelings for Jackie, which he has had for years, while Star's crush on Oskar was just her hormones playing up whenever he was near, with no real deep feelings, which was long gone by Starcrushed anyway, as evidenced by their interaction earlier in the episode. But the point is that both Star and Marco are in sort of denial: Star consciously, while Marco not realizing it yet. Star is fully aware of her feelings for Marco, but says she doesn't have any and that she will now like Oskar instead, even though she doesn't anymore; while Marco says he and Jackie make a nice couple, even though he's been neglecting her and most of the time they are together there is another girl on his mind, with whom he has better communication and around whom he feels more comfortable.

This doesn't mean that Marco's feelings for Jackie aren't real, but just that he is going to re-evaluate them now. And, hopefully, just like Star "losing" Marco (to Jackie) in BBtBC was a catalyst for her to realize what Marco really means to her, Marco losing Star (for real) in Starcrushed will do the same.

I wore safety pins in my ears for some time too.

It's literally exactly the same as any other earring. You just have to pay attention when putting them on because it's a bit sharper than a normal earring.

I don't think he forgot, it just took a long for it all to come back. When he first returned, the password and everything else felt like it was 16 years ago, so he wouldn't remember it. But eventually, as most of the memories from Hekapoo's dimension faded like a dream, the old life became feeling like it was earlier that day again, as opposed to 16 years ago.
