I remember thinking the characters acted too dumb, got into situations that could have been easily resolved. Rushed the romance stuff instead of letting the fanbase add shipping fuel.

Also Rudy wasn't that interesting of a protagonist. Everyone says he is so creative but everything he makes is generic.
