Now I remembered in the movie finale of Prime after Optimus fooled Unicron into sucking himself into the All-Spark container out of Megatron (that Unicron was possessing) that Megs disbanded the Decepticons and flew with his heavily upgraded Unicron-empowered body to who-knows-where-ville. And that was also when he realized that his modus operandi of being an oppressive jerk backfired when Unicron was possessing him.

Eh. Maybe it's just as well, especially if Takara gets around to doing them too. I agree that it's the most appropriate fit for the themes though, but RID Combiner whatever it's called, is a pretty shitty theme, so I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about the results.

Hasbro keeps fucking up these opportunities at intersecting themes. RID's Beast Hunters was a good opportunity for ... I forget what. I don't think it was just BW homages, it was the intersection with RID. Maybe I'm thinking it was a good opportunity to do it the other way around and do Beast Machines. I also keep thinking that with each new series they're closer to transition into a TransTech theme. I really want to see that happen one day.

Yeah. Along with that Megatron also had a similar story to IDW's Megs, with being a freedom fighter against a corrupt society--not sure how the current society on Cybertron is, but it seems kinda shady from a few hints on the show. Ideal point for him to show up and "redeem himself" into a mean space uncle character who will make cameos and have different appearances to sell different toys.
So it makes sense they'd mirror the IDW verse, I guess, which would be neat.

Also I assume his reappearance will coincide with the movie, to sell MORE MEGATRON TOYS.

The decepticons re-integrating into a brave new society, Starscream dealing poorly with the leadership he's always wanted, Megatron in charge of the Enterprise and Optimus Prime slowly getting more weird and ruthless. Shit's great, seeing these childhood cartoon characters re-imagined in a non shitty way.

So what I'm getting from this is that Galvatron did nothing wrong and many of the various "tribes" deserved to die since they are mechanically wrong.

Closest he got was a few bad asskickings from Megatron, and even then, what actually kills any 'bot is pretty goddamn open to interpretation since it's all fiat. Its sort of a cross between G1 and Prime, its supposed to be a prime sequel but with the plot writing and tones that are the exact opposite of what Prime had. It feels like its trying to reach out to the little kids weaning themselves off preschool shows than early teens.

There's a lot of annoying character tropes and overall the animation is very jerky, takes time getting used to. The humans are great but their expressions can turn real janky or wierd. You can tell where the budget has really been cut in places. Story is eh but it has its moments.

The designs are either critical hits or misses. grimlock and Strongarm are MMMMM/10 but bee and 90% of the decepticon cast of S1-2 make me want to puke. Minicons are always cute thou 100/10.

If you like your transformers like TFP or TFA then don't bother you'll just get really upset. If you like it a bit more G1/Rescue bots or you're a bleeding heart for precious smiles to protect you'll like it probably.

Close enough. IDW is Primus, Guiding Hand, Knights, Titans, 13 Primes with their own tribes. Primus or the Guiding Hand made the Knights in response to fight "Something" and the Titans to ferry them. Later made the Primes, the first real transformers. Galvatron was a member of Megatronus' tribe and decided he'd never serve a Prime. AT says he's a prime when...two or three of them have been killed. Solus and Nexus at least.
