What I don't understand is Savitar's timeline compared to the Future Flash's. Future Flash traps Savitar in the speed force, after Savitar kills Future Flash's Iris. So he escapes into the past, thanks to Alchemy, and uses the Flash to free himself from the speed force. Now he is free he plans on killing Iris for revenge for being trapped in the speed force. Even though his own past self would be doing that anyway, thus getting trapped in the speed force.

Can someone explain this? I am really confused by this whole Savitar thing and the long break since the other episodes has made me forget things.

Time travel is one of the most convoluted plot point possible and only expert writers can craft a story around it that doesn't feel like it's making up bullshit as it goes along and stacking plotholes upon plotholes to confuse the viewer into thinking the plot's not dumb, just too confusing for him to follow.

Sadly, the Flash writers are NOT good writers, so everything related to time travel in the show makes no sense, follows no logic and everything keeps getting handwaved with "it's speedforce I don't have to explain shit" bullshit.

If you want a good time travel story with consistent logic, go play Ghost Trick or something. You won't find it here
