I should've rephrased that, I meant going back to different eras, as well. anon mentioned it taking place in WWII then going to present day. we already did a similar thing with First Class taking place in the cold war era. and I haven't seen Apocalypse but I'm aware that movie takes place in the 80s or something

the biggest problem’s with fox’s F4 attempts is that they keep forgetting why the fantastic four is fantastic: it’s not their powers, it’s the way the approach a world which is full of the unknown and constantly changing. The only way to make the fantastic four work is to show us that they live in a world that is fantastic without them. The cover to the very first issue of fantastic four tells you this - that monster they fought isn’t connected to their origin, it existed before them.
