In this dick's defense it was a *very* boring comic. Carson Fire is massively entitled Christian fundamentalist tool, or at least he used to be, well known for scolding and lecturing. My favorite moment was when, after endlessly moralizing about how horrible people on welfare were, he unironically started begging for money to cover healthcare costs or rent for his family or something.

He can draw dem nice mermaid titties tho'.

It's clear that Carson is ADHD or easily distracted. He had big plans for story arcs and always cut them short. He even tried text chapters for a while but I think even those ended abruptly.

Also, he seemed to want to have his cake and eat it too. The main character was often a bumbling loveable idiot who stumbled his way to victory, but also secretly everything his legend made him out to be. And it teetered back and forth constantly.

If I remember right, he ended up cancelling Elf Life in favor of another comic which was just him doing political rants. It was about two employees in a bookstore. One was a liberal strawman who was incredibly hateful towards everyone and also really stupid, and the other was Carson's self-insert, a genius conservative who was always right.

Then he just kind of stopped updating it (after a weird interlude involving space pirates that went nowhere) and vanished off the face of the Earth.

Didn't Fire also try to do an actual porn comic at one point while working on Elflife but wound up not doing it and yanking the concept art a few weeks later? I seem to recall that one having fairly decent character designs.
