I haven't read TMNT in a long time. Lucky that I know where to find a reading order.
>>92005811
I really need to read classic joe comics.
>>92005737
which naruto is that?
>>92006195
Some good stuff, man.
>>92006225
>>92006052
you guys suck
>>92006236
>>92005811
whats up with all the blue-eyed ninjas?
>>92006270
Storm Shadow likes a particular type.
>>92006195
The first 115 issues + all 4 Yearbooks + all of Special Missions are excellent. Everything after that is your-mileage-may-vary.

>best fictional ninja clan
Funny, that don't look like no Lin Kuei logo I ever seen.
>Arashikage, from Arashikage clan
I wonder if that went similar to Vegeta, the King, the Prince and the Planet
Shall we have a storytime about it?
>>92007657
Something I genuinely love about GI Joe: two future master ninja fought in 'Nam and became best friends with a former inner city gang warlord.
>>92007415
Lin Kuei aren't ninja.
I vote for the Shadowkhan

Where in the hell did you find scans of the toy pack ins?
>>92008091
>>92008093
To be honest, I have no fucking idea. I think it might've been a torrent ages ago, but it might have been DL links too. This was when I was just getting into GI Joe so I just grabbed anything that looked modern. Like a dirty pleb.
>>92008178
Uh, I mean... ANCIENT NINJA MYSTERY
>>92008384
That last panel with the dialogue cracks me up.
>>92008424
I really, really like these three pages, because the whole "empty yourself and remove all worldly concerns to be a better fighter" tends to be seen as an undesirable or even straight-up evil thing in most works that try to ape martial arts philosophy. There tends to be more value put into attachment and worry and fighting for X or Y. But here, emptying yourself is presented as something that can be returned from, which always struck me as a really good compromise, and one that fits very well with Snake-Eyes' background as a war veteran.

>"If this ninja don't shut the fuck up..."
>>92005737
Is GI Joe guilty of cultural appropriation?
>TFW then Arashikage family crest is the only geek fandom related thing you'd ever want have a tattoo of
It's weird since I don't really consider myself a particularly big G.I. Joe fan, as I don't even own any figures, etc. I've just been a fan of the comic since the early 90s. Never even watched the cartoons.
>>92008699
It's cool, it's striking, it actually has a couple of other meanings beyond GI Joe (Ba Gua, I-Ching, etc.) and it's minimalistic. Plus, Arashikage tatoos are kind of a huge thing within GI Joe so.
>>92008630
Not when Hama's involved.
>>92008699
It's a simple but cool symbol, so that's not too hard to understand.
Though if you don't particularly care about GI Joe, you might want to do some research into the I Ching and find a hexagram with a meaning that resonates with you. The Arashikage symbol is hexagram 63.
>>92008526
>your tears are delicious
This comic is far better than it has any rights to be.

Storm Shadow is a cool guy.
Ok /co/, I'm sure most, if not all, of y'all have read issue 21, the silent issue.
But have you read the Noisy Issue?

Not gonna lie: Byung-Hun Lee was distractingly sexy in both GI Joe movies. Especially with his shirt off.

>the samurai were actually ninja
I feel like there's a joke here but my brain's too fried to get it.
Also, Jinx is a badass.
>>92010068
Always dug this particular Storm Shadow design a bit more than the classic all-white sleeveless look, though I dunno if the camo pattern is actually based on anything.
>>92010101
Having learned from the last time they had to go against Arashikage warriors, the Red Ninja have unearthed that most ancient of shadow weapons: the MAC-10.

But does he yell SAIGON when he attacks?
>>92010897
Snake-Eyes at least sure fucking doesn't.
>>92006052
But...
>>92010989
Does he yell it internally?
>>92005737
but that's not the uchihas anon
>>92009020
That was ALWAYS true of GI Joe comics.
>>92011265
They aren't ninjas, they're Dragonball Z characters wearing ninja gear.
Even the fucking author himself admitted that Dragonball was his primary inspiration to write Naruto.
>>92011194
Always.
>>92006270
>whats up with all the blue-eyed ninjas?
It was the 1980s.
>>92007929
What was the order of creation, the ashikage.foot, the arashikage, or the Hand?
>>92008630
Cultural appropriation is not a crime. Second, the GI joe team was created day one to be multicultural AND millitary. Finally, the lead writer and creator of much of the Joe team is Larry fucking Hama. Who is a Japanese American.
Claiming that Larry Hama is culturally appropriating Japanese culture is some serious next level nu-racisim bullshit, and anyone who seriously pushes it, should be treated like the rent seeking racist scum they are.
>>92009071
the fuck how'd I miss out on this young justice style gi joe show?
No one made a Loss edit?
Wow.
>>92011393
They are ninjas just ninjas with magical powers
>>92012055
Nah. Ninjas are assassins under a feudal lord. They don't go around doing anime fights.
>>92011916
GI Joe: Resolute was great I wish they did more with it. This was written by Warren Ellis so it really has me looking forward to that Castlevania cartoon he is doing for Netflix.
>>92012162

Kinda they were more special forces than anything
Naruto was supposed to be about Wizards anyway but Harry Potter became huge in japan and he didn't want to be compared to it
>>92012469
neat.
>>92005811
Larry Hama penciled this issue.
How awesome isthat man?
He fought in Vietnam, studies several martial arts, came up with the concept and wrote the bulk of the Marvel GI Joe series, had a great run on Wolverine, created Bucky O'Hare in addition to all the other writing an editing he's done for both Marvel and DC.
He's a freaking legend. Everyday I fear Stan will take him next.
>>92011539
The Hand was first (1981)
in 1984 the Arashikage came in March and the Foot in May.
>>92013761
He'd need to get him in his sleep.
>>92013761
Fuck yeah Larry Hama wrote my favorite era of the Wolverine solo book back then,
>>92013761
He's also a rated demolitions expert, and has more confirmed kills than the entire marvel comics staff combined.
>>92011265
>naruto characters

they're kung-fu action sorcerers
