The new setting while initially cool, sabotaged all sense of wonder or exploration.

too many changes. It was supposed to be a 12 episode short series. Then it got stretched to a whole season, then another 2 seasons.
The writers either could not keep up with the changes or were too invested in what they already wrote to change it enough to fit the new pacing.

They had no exit plan for Amon.

Great premise that was ruined by a mystery box and a resolution that a too quick and whose most intersting development(non bending mayor).Happened offscreen.They should have revealed Amon halfway through the season an let him escape/continue his crusade after his defeat

He broke the previously established canon (like so much of Korra) by having spirit bending powers via blood bending. Skills which have been established to be exceedingly rare and only possible in the full moon.

The character died with the consistency of the show. And the dumb murder-suicide.

I remember /co/ back in the day trying to guess and predict the storyline and who he was and I swear almost all of them were better
