Recently picked up Dark Avengers and I'm actually enjoying this. What else is worth reading from the 'Dark Reign' period of Marvel?
I was thinking of picking up Dark Wolverine next.

West Coast Avengers by Slott is some of his best work.

He means Mighty Avengers, and I second this.
Avengers: The Initiative was also pretty good, but you need to read the issues that come before Dark Reign in order to understand it.
The thing I loved most about Dark Reign was that it was still a popcorn adventure at heart.
You could root for Norman's Avengers. You really felt for some of them. You could even want them to win.
Even when they tried to play up the horror of it all it wasn't upsetting.
I don't think I'm going to feel that way with HydraCap's thing. That somehow feels threatening.

The two Ares minis are quality. I have vague entertaining memories of Sentry mini but I'm not sure if that was from the Dark Reign era.

Might Avengers was worth reading.
Slott wrote the best Hank Pym run ever.
Also, Avengers: The Initiative was a lot of fun, when Task Master became the main character.

It starts with Warren Ellis' Thunderbolt. Dark Avengers is the direct sequel to that

Strongly seconding both of these.
And read Siege & the Siege Secret Warriors one shot.

Here.
This one is a while before Dark Reign, after this Ares joins Tony's Mighty Avengers and then transfer's on to Norman's team after Secret Invasion.

Honestly I loved all of that era. If you liked DA you'll probably like all the tie-ins.

I wonder if now that Spidey is in the MCU we can get Norman Iron Patriot
From the end of Secret Invasion to the end of Siege was the best era Marvel has had in a long time. I think Fear Itself was when I stopped reading honestly

The Sinister Spider-Man miniseries was great, Thunderbolts and Avengers the Initiative also were awesome.
