It's the animation studio.
First few episodes of season 1 was done by Mercury Filmworks along with the intro.
Season 3's is done by some Korean Studio.
I still prefer Mercury's animation style despite clearly seeing the symbols that were tweened and transformed to move. At least they put momentum and weight in mind, hence the bouncy Star.

for reference nearly all other episodes are co-boarded by Directors (and sometimes storyboard supervisors)

also; St. Olgas (solo boarded by Piero Piluso) credits Carlos Ramos under additional storyboards, while Interdimensional Field Trip/Marco Grows a Beard credits Aliki T Graft under storyboards; when I asked bisignano about this, he mentioned that it's due to them having done storyboards on an earlier draft of the episode but none ending up in the final product

Honestly I don't think so. Janna works as Star's friend, because they both have that fuck the rules randomness and like getting into trouble, and Star can be remarkably bitchy if the mood hits her, see her treatment of Ruberiot.
But Tom seems like he's really not that much into Star's lolsorandom rule breaking; he kinda admires it but it drives him so mad he was still griping about it to Marco months (at least) after they broke up. Janna is like a more extreme Star, with the exception that she intentionally tries to rile people up.
Imo Tom is too egoistic, too thin skinned, too sensitive, too vulnerable and also too much of a control freak to enjoy Janna's company - and Janna would probably find him and his ping pong and vidya a square stick in the mud once the novelty of "hunky demon" wore off.

Of course it might be interesting to watch Janna get totally disillusioned about Tom the longer she stalks him and then bitch about him with Star, something something looks can be deceiving someone can look like they'd be a perfect match for you but the personality is all wrong and love is where you least expected to find it, something like that.

I mean Star and Janna both have a thing for Marco, they have quite similar tastes - and Star can't stand Tom

Has Marco already screwed himself out of the Harem End or can he save himself?
