thanks. the animation is rather old, I started it in 2011 and it never really went anywhere. Fast forward to 2017 I still animate but once you get older you get an eye for detail, you pay attention to things other people would just glance over, and unfortunately your workload increases because of your vast knowledge

Once you become a wageslave you get less and less time to dedicate to your hobbies, so life becomes a constant struggle to fight for the things you love. It's soul shattering but everyone all over the world is living what I'm describing right now.

if there's one thing I've learned from years of creating characters, it's that you are ALWAYS subconsciously copying from somewhere. Just try to make sure it's not an EXACT copy. Hell, I usually make sure I KNOW what I'm copying from, to ensure that. Nothing's worse than spending months on an animation only to hear, "wow that character looks exactly like BLANK from Dark Souls!"

It's more like an animatic, but I did this for a class a little while back. We had make a video about an urban legend, so I did this on something I found online called the Pope Lick monster, who would lure it's victims onto a railroad trestle, then trap them between and oncoming train and itself, forcing them to either be hit by the train or jump off to their death.

I should really consider cleaning my lines more. And also animating in general more. But as most who animate casually know, it can be quite time consuming. Though it's still fun making silly moving pictures.

Well of course he has outlines, it's just something they do with the ink and paint. You know, to invoke realism.

Usually when I draw someone using a reference I use light and dark to fill the contours of their face, to capture them better because that's how we see. We don't see lines, we see colors and shapes.
