Youtube had pretty accurate english subtitles for the first 2 seasons until they were blocked from the US. They've got them english hardsubbed at gogocartoon (of varying quality) so at least you can save them if even those disappear.

And yes most of the skits are legitimately funny, and even play into other characters jokes with their own personality flaws (Inspector Gadget gets a Dirty Harry-like persona and is reprimanded for brutality over minor infractions, and then later is partnered buddy cop style with Not-Dora the Explorer to find a missing bag (which he has been working on for months to no avail). Just the way he handles Not-Swiper and is in awe of Dora's first-grader detective skills had me pretty amused.)

Favorite characters are Asterix and Obelix as boozers, and that might be because that drunk humor were my favorite moments out of American Dad.
