Before Skeletor, he was Keldor...
A mighty Prince of Eternia.
Let's explore the story of one of the best fictional villains ever created.
>>91980760
Rad cover. Cheers, OP.
>>91980927
Yes it is. Badass.
Damn
And that's it for this issue. Now i will post an issue from the Masters of the Universe ongoing, which is connected to this one, and it has Adam as the narrator of the events during Keldor's coup, that eventually lead to his final destiny.
>>91981158
AND HE PRAYS
Do we ever learn why he likes the phrase "MYAH" so much?
>>91981913
>Sending Beast Man on an errand and expecting him to follow orders and not fuck it up
Keldor, what are you doing?
>>91982076
Masters of the Bump
>>91982010
This version of Beastman is not entirely dump. He is a savage brute, but his ability to controll any kind of beasts (and in this case Shadow Beasts), is very usefull to Keldor's plans.
And Beastie go all kick ass.
>>91981030
>Fuck You Death! Im the goddamn Skeletor!
Frazier Irving doing a skeletor comic is fuckin rad
>>91981829
Fucking hell there's no way it's not intentional
Continuing to explore Keldor's background story, let's see how he recruited his first henchman, the savage Beastman.
This tale is based on the 2004's Icons of Evil mini series, so it's using Keldor's 2002 look, from the animated series. Since the comics that came afterwarks didn't give another origin story for Beastie, we can consider this one the only valid so far.
Keldor wanted to fuck a cat lady???
It amazes me how as Skeletor didn't try to fuck Cheetara, in the recently ended crossover with the Thundercats.
>>91987221
I'd fuck him.
>>91987309
A CAT IS FINE TOO
Sorry Keldor. You can't fuck a cat lady, especially one with a... wolfman boyfriend.
Hello Beastie!
So be it!
"That's Beast Man"
"Not for long"
Keldor is so based.
>>91987754
>>91987776
fuck, I lol'd
What are those little fucks thinking?
>>91987812
Never underestimate little humanoid cannibals with tranquilizer arrows.
>>91987812
Get a load of this faggot.
Prison break.
And 1st Keldor/Beastman team up.
>>91988265
Gosh even escaping Keldor looks so damn smug at it.
Wrong turn.
Damn.
Keldor beat the fuck out of this fat shit of their leader.
And Beast Man shit himself, lol.
>>91982273
>>91982325
>>91982398
>>91982440
I liked this part because it made Adam more than just a host for the power of Greyskull. It meant that he would have been powerful in his own right and that the sword was just a tool instead of all there was to him.
And this is how Beast Man became Keldor/Skeletor's first warrior.
There is another tale about how Keldor recruited Tri-Klops, if you like to post it.
>>91988771
Yes. This story and the Eternity War series that followed, basically show why Adam has been chosen to wield the Power of Grayskull.
>>91988774
>another tale about how Keldor recruited Tri-Klops
hey
>>91988976
Ok then.
A few info about Trike. In the first mini comics that came out, Tri-Klops was a bounty hunter, a master swordsman, that Skeletor hired to get rid off He-Man. Trike after took out one by one He-Man's warriors, Battle Cat including, he fought against him, and was defeated after a hard duel.
The Filmation cartoon that came out a year later, fucked up his character completely turned a badass swordsman to an idiot that didn't even carry a sword. Then the 2002 MOTU animated series restored Tri-Klops's awesomeness not only as a swordsman, but also as the answer of Skeletor to Man At Arms. Tri-Klops became Skeletor's main inventor and tactician.
In this story, we will see Tri-Klops's story and how he met and decided to follow Keldor.
Tri-Klops's story begins with him being a "sword for hire", much like he was in the mini comics. After injured trying to save a "techno-wizard" (term that the Eternians use for the scientists), he lost his sight. The scientist offered to help him, in excange of his services..

>>91989837
thanks, mate
>>91989879
You are welcome anon.
Bandana Tri-Klops to the rescue.
I bet that you already recognize this guy...
This smile...
>>91990193
>I bet that you already recognize this guy...
>This smile...
And that stache...Kirkman has a thing for writing guys with a stache.
Barbarians and monsters vs robots and droids. Gotta love Masters of the Universe.

Bump
Ponytail Keldor is the most based Keldor ever.
Surprise. Keldor meets Tri-Klops.
>making skeltor serious
Why
>>91990723
Skeletor was serious, when he first appeared in the mini comics and comics. Then the Filmation changed this, and turned him to a clown. This here is Skeletor's return to his roots. Still Skelly can work both ways.
>>91990820
Allright, i respect that they kept the original comics seriousness if skeletor was indeed a serious character at first, but the funimation cartoon has been so overblown in modern culture i cant see him as someone intimidating no more.
>>91990963
Skeletor has been serious for the past 15 years. And Mattel intends to keep him like that. He has been funny and entertaining too at times, but even in that case he still remains a deadly villain (see He-Man/Thundercats for example where Skelly is fun, but he still kicks ass and remains extremely dangerous foe). So Filmation's image or not, Skeletor will remain the same serious threat from now on.
Keldor, you cunning son of a bitch.
And that was the story of Tri-Klops. The Swordsman who was tricked by Keldor to betray the only man who was trying to help him.
>>91991448
I like how most of the evil followers aren't actually that bad, just Keldor jumping into their lives caused the worst case to happen and they ended up having to stick by him.
This is a fun read
>>91991448
that was cool, thanks
>>91991592
You are welcome anon.
>>91981264
>the first skelegate is born.

>>91989628
Thanks for the reads dude. I hope the movie will at least be decent I love the He-Man series and lore. Got anything else? Love to read more
I liked him on that first issue, also great art.
The only other edition I've seen was with Skeletor courting a lady that was death or something like that. I like when he is handled that way, not an over the top opera villain or a giggling buffoon.
reading bump motherfucker
Any more? Lyn was 90% pure evil as I recall in the cartoon and I'd like to know how she started in this.
>>91980715
Bump
>>91995237
You are welcome. I plan to post the Twins's issues together later, so all three Grayskull's heirs (Keldor, Adam, Adora) will be presented.
>>91996165
You mean Skeletor and Shadow Weaver? If you like i can post this issue. It's part of the Eternity War series, but since it deals with Skelly's past, after Keldor turned to Skeletor, and during his days as Hordak's student and general. It also explains how Skeletor came to possess the Havoc Staff. If you want to, i can post it here.
>>91999431
Evil-Lyn's origin was revealed in the 2002 Masters of the Universe animated series, and in part in the comics pubblished during this period.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOyvIZUG5s
>>92001046
She was the daughter of the Faceless One, a powerful wizard and lord of Zalesia, whose position in the Council of Wisdom, didn't allow him to have children. When the Council asked him to renounce his newborn daughter Lyn, he refused and he make a deal with King Hsss, that caused a huge destruction on Eternia. The Faceless One was condamned to be imprisoned for ever in his city.
>>92001113
Years later his daughter Lyn, met a young wizard, Prince Keldor son of King Miro. She fell in love with him, they married, they have a son, and Lyn helped Keldor at his plans to dethrone his brother Randor, and destroy the Council of the Elders. But Keldor was badly injured in the battle against his brother, so Evil-Lyn helped Keldor to reach Hordak, and make a deal with him, and Hordak saved his life.
After Keldor turned to Skeletor, his temporary insanity, and Evil-Lyn's ambitions, changed their relationship that was getting worse and worse. Then during the period that Skeletor worked for Hordak on Etheria, he fell madly in love with Shadow Weaver, and this was the end of Skeletor and Evil-Lyn's relationship.
After Skeletor returned to Eternia, Evil-Lyn joined again his forces as second in command. Even if she tried many times to backstab Skeletor, for assume the command, when Evil-Lyn she was badly injure, her father the Faceless One asked Skeletor to save her life. Even if Skeletor refused in the beginning, then she saved Lyn's life, revealing that he still had feelings for her.
>>92001327
Then Skeletor carried Evil-Lyn back to Snake Mountain. He-Man faced Skeletor, but respected this moment, and let his uncle to retreat. Who said that a villain can't be romantic.
>>92001327
What happened to Evil-Lyn and Skeletor's kid?
>>92002625
Evil-Lyn send him to the future, after Keldor's transformation to Skeletor, probably fearing for the safety of their child.
>>92002625
>>92003910
In the future, and old Evil-Lyn raised their son, and named him Deon. After Skeletor's defeat, Deon decided to avenge him. He assumed controll of Skeletor's forces, he put on a skull mask with a mohawk to honour his father, and go in a war against He-Man who was now King of Eternia.
>>91988774
The writing and pacing in this was so pure undiluted Kirkman, holy shit
>>92002625
In the meantime sthe Sword of Power has passed to He-Man and Teela's teenage son Dare, who became Deon's archenemy.
This is some kooky level shit.

Thanks, I remembered the bits from the cartoon but didn't know the rest.
>>92007045
You are welcome.
So leaving aside for awhile Keldor and Evil-Lyn...
>>92008768
let's go to see Skeletor/Keldor's involvement with Shadow Weaver, during his years as Hordak's student and general of his armies.
>>92008893
This is the last comic book issue that deals with Skeletor's past. It's part of the Eternit War maxi series, but since the plot has to do with Skeletor's backstory i will post it here.
This issue explores Skeletor's years as the Horde's general. The events of this story took place after Keldor turned to Skeletor. Skeletor remained with Hordak for 5 years on Etheria, and he was the person that crashed the first rebellion against the Horde. Duing this period Skeletor got together with Shadow Weaver. This issue has a lot of twists and reveals, it involves time travel, and shows how Skeletor turned against Hordak. Superb cover by Jonboy Meyers here.
thanks for all this OP. i've wanted to read these for a while, but i have no idea what the posting order for the series is.
>>92009836
You are welcome.
Tomorrow i will post Adam and Adora's standalone issues, and then i will proceed with the main series that started from 2012 and afterwards. Unless you prefer to post the 2002-4 MOTU comic series. It's a different canon from the most recent comics pubblished by DC, since they are linked directly to the 2002 Masters of the Universe animated series, but they are great read. Your choice.
>>92010036
shoot fire. you do you OP. I am just enjoying the ride. main series sounds solid,
>>92010134
OK then.
>>92009653
Skeletor's staff is topped with his own skull, that's fucking cool as fuck
>>91987754
Keldor's "Just Fuck Up My Shit" face is glorious.
>>92008768
Keldor & Evil-Lyn for ever.
>>92012632
that's a lot of tit.
> reading this storytime.
>>92009353
A small Easter Egg in this picture, for those interested in the history of the MOTU franchise. The weapons that Skeletor wields here, come from one of the very early concepts of Skeletor designed by Mark Taylor, before the action figure released in the early 80's.
>>92018789
Very nice.
When did this come out?
>>92021849
2012. It's on the cover.
