From what I've listened to the radio show, it's actually really boring. Two kids on Jimmy Olsen's little league team are pissed at each other and one kid tells his Klansmen uncle about it. Since the other kid is Chinese, the Clan of the Fiery Cross try to run him and his family out of town.

Again none of this is to defend the Klan as some misunderstood organization but that, again, it gets kept around as a ghost (ironically enough) because keeping the bogeyman around because certain groups, some with lots of influence (especially the SPLC), benefit from having the group constantly in the public consciousness long after it ceased to be any sort of political force.

Southerners had legitimate grounds for being upset about slaves being made into citizens and even given political offices. Most Northerners didn't think that was a good idea either, the ones that introduced and enforced those policies were doing it out of spite more than anything. Nobody thought slaves would integrate well with American society as equal citizens, not even abolitionists. Lincoln wanted them to take their freedom and go back to Africa or some other new foreign colony to live their lives as their own people, not stay here and become citizens.

That is absolutely worthless praise because those would've happened regardless of who was elected. The TPP especially was already dead before the election even concluded. All things you learn are shaped and built by the first things you learn: the methods of acquiring and judging and relating information.

Much time in early educational systems (say up to about masters level usually) is spent building your methods and tools for learning.

As we start out with uncritical thought and build towards critical understanding and true resoning, it makes sense that the first things we learn, the very methods OF learning, are uncritical and can bake in flawed thought, such as racism.

It sounds like brainwashing because, like all learning, it is similar, but unpressurized and forced, merely presented to you as what some believe is knowledge to be learned.
