What is Superman in Grant Morrison's Hyper Crisis?
I can understand that GM emphasize Superman's importance in comic genre.
Is Superman beyond comic genre itself for GM?
what a stupid question
Superman is Superman
>>91922635
Especially for Grant Morrison?
He seems to put Superman above literally everything
>>91922746
If Hyper Crisis is rooted in the DC universe, Superman pretty much has to be the main character. Especially when Morrison is the writer.

Thank you.
I think so.
Is it because that Superman is the origin of Superhero genre?
>>91922946
It's arguable if he's the first "hero with superpowers" definition of superhero, but he invented most of the tropes that have been associated with superheroes ever since.
>>91923027
I don't think there's much of an argument against Mandrake the Magician being the original superpowered hero.

Morrison really loves the secret identity part of Supes. Superman v Clark, the love triangle with Lois, etc. So even if there was someone just as good to use, and there isn't, I think Morrison would go Superman.
I have a question.
Who is supreme being in Hyper Crisis?
Empty hand? Overmonitor?
Did you read Supergods?
It really tells what Morrison think about comic genre and DC comics.
Hyper Crisis is based on that book.

Empty Hand is the reader, Overmonitor is the writer.
Whose superior?
>>91923674
And, Superman seems to be the character who is beyond us in Morrison's mind.
Superman beyond 3D is the story about how great the story of superman is and how the story of superman is beyond even writers.
Who is superior?
Reader>>Author>>Character ?
or
Character>>Reader>>Author?
