Peter would be weird if he was a girl. I mean if you take the time to look at theoriginal Peter, you'd see that he was an asshole who got in fights because he felt superior due to being smart, but in reality it was to hide his insecurity of being both poor and an orphan. Most writers try to write Peter as a pretty liberal person, but Peter never was. He wanted to get rich quick, and really only was Spider-Man as an act of contrition to the Great Man figure Uncle Ben. Even when he's Spider-Man he still looks for ways to make cash like beating up the FF or selling photos of himself.

It's why I hated Ultimate Spider-Man. It was little just a best hits complication written by a guy who didn't get a lot of the characters and just wrote shitty parts adaptions of older arcs. Peter really didn't feel like Peter. Aunt May was turned into this boisterous figure instead of someone who lost someone who she's spent most of her life with.

I think if you tried to do something with Female Spider man, as in literally change up Peter's character so he was a girl, then some dynamics and aspects of his/her world would just have to change, otherwise it's just r63 fanart and not actually trying to tell an interesting or gripping story.

I mean, just off the top of my head, I could see an alt universe where femPeter trusts Aunt May (assuming EVERYBODY'S gender isn't reversed) with her secret and.. I agree. Peter does evolve into a better person, but my argument was that Peter is fairly conservative when it comes to his values. He values his family next to or higher than God. He works to get out of a shitty stituation and really is a negative cut out of conservative values and the 'fuck you, I got mine' attitude of New York. He wasn't self-centered, but really didn't care about anyone, but Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Flash was kind of a friend, but neither of them really wanted to be one equals because of underlying issues.

It's part of the reason I hate Miles. Miles is the opposite of Peter. Upper Middle class, had both parents, is smart and acknowledged by his peers, and really no struggles. Yeah he's a subversion, but he never really makes me feel for him. It's not creative. His dad runs away when his mom dies and he quits, but it misses the point of Spider-Man.

People love to point out that Peter shares a lot of the same issues a lot of poor black people and that to modernize him you could easily make him black. But the issue is that Peter almost always blames himself when something bad happens to people around him. Whether he acts or not. You couldn't have him going after racism because it really wouldn't fit the character. You'd be writing Ben Carson if you made Spider-Man black.

In terms of a "purely physical" level I'd still say that she would initially be attracted to women. The brain makes instinctive decisions based on the sensory info that it receives. Like: That burns. Take your hand off ! Likewise, the brain instinctively wants to reproduce.

Having Peter's memories would essentially tell her brain: Something isn't right. I need to be up-regulating testosterone instead of estrogen because according to sensory info, I have a dick.

Her brain likely believes itself to be a male brain and would act accordingly in an attempt to "fix itself". When people are born naturally, there can be no input of contradictory sensory info because the brain has yet to develop. Genes are in total control But if one were to somehow implant memories of a person of the opposite sex into a developing fetus there would definitely be an imbalance of hormones. The genes would want to code for the correct hormone, but the brain would activate pathways work against them because until Jessica's brain receives sensory info stating that she is female -- not male -- her brain instinctively believes that in order to reproduce, she would need a female mate.

Also, while there are separate hormones for certain things in males and females, dopamine, serotonin and a couple of other hormones involved in attraction are actually the same and produced in the same pathways in males and females.

Number 4 is actually a pretty cool design. I'd maybe make the boots a bit bulkier and give him a beard or something. Kara's a big bruiser, so her male equivalent shouldn't be too twinky.
