Do you think Superman is emotionally unstable?
>>
Superman is too emotional while Batman has no emotions.

They're like an abusive couple.
>>
>>91918905
Yes.
>>
>>91918978
Batman is extremely emotional, why do casuals keep insisting on memes?
>>
He actually has the mental fortitude of fucking titanium
>>
>>91919013
Maybe Kings fagman
>>
>>91919026

>constantly get mind-controlled
>constantly give up the cape
>>
>>91919013

He can't be more emotional than Superman. Superman's better than everyone in everything. He's more human than us humans.
>>
>>91919044
>Superman's better than everyone in everything
So, he is a mary sue?
>>
>>91918905
Not really, Batman is more emotionally unstable.
>>
>>91918905
He's a subject of alien psychology. His mind works differently from ours so sometimes his actions may look strange or even insane.
>>
>>91918905
What's his lifespan?

Spending his years protecting a vastly primitive species rather than aggressively advancing it seems very cognitively dissonant.
>>
>>91918905
Not really, but he isnt super emotional either. If anything he sometimes seems to lack the comprehesion of how humans experience certain negative emotions (might be due to his alien psychology). Thats why he sometimes feel so dissapointed in human nature (like he does in For Tomorrow) but deep down he is just trying to do his best to bring the best in others (which is, admitedly, very hard). As long as the guy has a family, you have no reason to worry about his mental fortitude.
>>
>>91918905
Depends on the writer
>>
>>91919013
Batman shows very little emotion in general
He even speaks in an emotionless manner to scare people
>>
>>91919097
He most defenitly is. Give him powers for a day and he goes absolutly mad.
>>
>>91918905
He's emotional to be sure, but his intellect overrides it. If you had an unstable Superman with all the stuff that goes on in the DC universe, I think Metropolis would look very different
>>
>>91918905
Depends on your Superman, usually if he was raised by the Kents well and lived a normal enough life to the time he got a job he's usually pretty sound of mind. He only starts to crack if someone like Mr.Mxyzptlk, Brainiac, Mongul or Darkseid mess with his memories or present view of things. Or Lois dying for a quick and easy one.
>>
>>91918905
Nope.
>>
>>91919387
kek. Being mad is an emotion. Bruce is a emotional person, he has problems with showing affection in adult manners, that's all.i have no idea where the meme of batman not being emotional comes from, even dixon with his batjerk had him really emotional about everything
>>
>>91918905
The dude hears everything. He constantly has to drown out the sounds of people crying for help because he knows he can't save them all at once. He's forced to let people die on a regular basis and he knows he'll always bear the guilt.

Taking that into account, I'd say Clark's peace of mind is incredible.
>>
>>91918905
Superbro was a histerical bitch.
Superdad is wholesome and stabile.

Batman has autism?

>>
Why do these threads attract so many idiots who don't read comics trying to talk like they know what they're talking about?
>>
The problem with Superman is his role as the most powerful hero, or the most important hero, or even as the nicest hero.

So you'll always have stories that explore the idea of what would happen if the most powerful/nicest hero lost his mind and decided to fuck everyone shit up, or what would happen if the most important hero gave up on heroing leaving others to pick the pieces.

All those troupes/stories put a dent to Superman's mental/emotional fortitude, but it isn't so much because of who Superman is, but rather is role in-universe.

Hell, even his status as an immortal leave him open to explore stories a la LOGAN where the immortal hero is just tired of all the shit and begging to end it all. Though Wonder Woman's existence, as another immortal hero of the opposite sex, thankfully (or not) lend more to stories where Superman live in ever lasting bliss with another immortal being like him, but then her existence also lend to stories where the two go Macbeth on everybody's asses as well. So it's a toss up.
>>
>>91922081
This is bullshit Superman is NOT immortal he just age slower than humans and Wonder woman is Ageless Superman will die before Wonder woman does and even in the grand scheme of the DC universe those labels are pointless because their are plenty other heroes who are more powerful and are actually immortal hell Batman could just use the Lazarus Pits forever so your assessment is false.
>>
>>91921658
Rational anger as a result of fear over a loved one coupled with the personal power to make a difference in resolving the feared situation.

It would only be irrational if he wasnt capable of tearing through that wall with his bare hands.
>>
>>91922728
Yeah, because Batman is some random villain and not one of his closest allies.

Stop making excuses for him because not even bothering to give Batman the benefit of the doubt and destroying the cave on his head isn't "rational" anger.
>>
>>91923495

To be fair, this is clearly a show of force, considering that Superdad could blitz the cave and everything in it to ash in a split-second if he was really on the warpath. The writer just wants the reader to be aware of how scary papa wolf Clark can be.
>>
>>91921602
>Superdad is wholesome and stabile.
No he fucking wasn't he attacked New 52 Lex for literally no reason other than "You're bad on my world so you're bad here" Superdad was a douche
>>
>>91919097
>He's more human than us humans.
You can say he is SUPERhuman
>>
>>91922720

There have been stories exploring Superman near immortality. And Superman's usually portrayed as the most powerful and/or important hero in the world.

As for Wonder Woman, she's usually there as his follower/trophy wife in such stories.
>>
>>91924745

Both Superbro and Superdad are hotheads.

Remember, Superbro almost killed Batman and Green Lantern.
>>
>>91924713
The only reason why he didn't completely destroy it was because his son was in it.

Heck, his son was the one who stopped him from beating Batman. Superman was completely irrational in that issue.
>>
>>91924845
I don't think he actually had the intention of killing them though. The animated movie puts it like he bruises but doesn't kill.

But yeah both Superdad and Superbro can be douches which fits since they're the same person anyway.
>>
>>91924945

Nah bro, the fact he had the faculties to ask to talk to Damien (or demand) shows he was still in control, just (understandably) pissed. And, you know, the rest of the issue.

Also, give the guy a break. He loses his entire reality and has to ignore the troubles of the world for nearly a decade. He has a lot of repressed emotion.
>>
>>91924981

The animated movie is wrong and bad. He almost killed them in the comics. Well, the comic was also wrong and bad, as well, but you know.
>>
>>91919387
Showing and experiencing emotions are different things, though.
>>
>>91922720
I can't remember if it's an actual canon explanation or not, but I recall it being stated somewhere that 'the older Superman gets, the slower he ages'.
>>
>>91925032
>ignore the troubles of the world for nearly a decade
Too bad he didn't do anything during Forever Evil when the Crime Syndicate took over the world and his other self and the Justice League were presumed dead.
>>
>>91922720
Wonder Woman is not ageless. She's only 18 when she comes to Man's World.
>>
>>91919387
Bruce is so emotional he trained for 10 years, dresses up as a bat to scare and beat the shit out of people he hates. You can't possibly get more emotional than that.
>>
>>91925644

KEK.

He has super powers so why not super emotions? Frankly I think they make him too angry sometimes. He needs to chill and get in touch with his other emotions. I think he's the best when he's calm and in control but not emotionless. When he is expressing on purpose.

Bruce Lee said the body follows the mind and being in control of his super mind and super heart should be part of his super powers.

Here it says that Superman is still alive after 2-3 billion years. Safe to say he's immortal
>>
>>91918905
In the DCEU, yes. He's emotionally and psychologically unstable.

Batman is rather emotionally unstable if you really think about it. He's worried that if he were to take the life of someone absolutely reprehensible that he'll never be able to go back. This implies that he's aware of his emotional instability, but he's too worried to face it, or to even think of the consequences his actions are having on the populous at large.

The longer he goes without sorting out the idea that some people are beyond saving the more said individuals can ruin and damage countless lives. The objective of heroes is to try to reduce the suffering of the average man yet Batman is far beyond in that he essentially to a large extend enables the suffering of others by his refusal to reconcile the damage being done to Gotham as a whole.

Superman on the other hand is too obsessed with trying to maintain the impossible standard people set out for him. We see him as this absolute being of perfection when the reality is that he's just a simple farmboy trying to do the right thing. The poor guy has this unbelievable amount of pressure that he must shoulder every day when he goes out to face the world, and he tries to do it with a smile. It often leads to mistakes, and self deprecation on his part because of his harsh self criticism.

They're absolutely fascinating characters.

>Batman has no emotions.
You people that don't know about Batman please stop pretending like you do.
>>
>>91921658
At that time him and Bruce weren't friends

They kidnap his son, of course he's going to be pissed.

>>91923495
They weren't close, Bruce was only close to Superbro and even then Batman was being a bitch with him because of "Not muh"

Not to mention Bruce does shady shit all the time and people have to put up with his autism.
>>
>>91925320
Thanks to the retcon and the merging, now he did.

Stay up to date casual.
>>
>>91918905
Originally he shouldn't be

but thanks to netherrleams and shitty injustice

he will be more known as one
>>
>>91921658
THEY KIDNAPPED HIS SON!

Really anon, that's the proper response to what happened.
>>
>>91918905
I'm pretty sure Batman is the one who is mentally unstable.
>>
>>91931984

Batman's mental instability makes him stable.
>>
>>91918905
I think Superman FANS are emotionally unstable.
The character himself isn't complex enough to be emotionally unstable.
>>
>>91933686

exactly. thats honestly the problem with super man overall that his fans can't seem to get, he's just not that complex and thus its really hard to make him very interesting in movies and stuff.
>>
>>91928588

reminder wally has white streaks so he's faster
>>

>The character himself isn't complex enough to be emotionally unstable
I couldn't agree more with this.

Nope
>>
>>91919077

he actually started training against that a while back, hell he broke out of Arion's hold just by sheer around the Camelot Falls arc.
>>
>>91933808
That's not entirely true.
In the past there have been many great movies about morally upright characters with an indomitable will who champion virtuous behavior as an ideal to embody.
They're really-really old movies, but they are good movies.
>>
>>91930436
Doesn't mean shit Superdad still sit on his ass while the world was taken over by villains just because he doesn't remember that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
