To everyone else the dragon bell incident was just an unfortunate coincidence.

Also either Kit was completely consumed by her cure work that she didn't even think about connecting the Specter orders and the dragon attack, or the orders the Specter gave her didn't exactly make it clear that it would cause a dragon attack. Like Demand A be make Chicadino PM and Demand B-F be mundane things with Demand H being "Clean the Tank".

Also I have a theory that as a result of connecting the dots between the Specter and the dragon attack, Kit has stopped using the God's blood in her search for the cure.

The sea dragon is reacting to something, though Friedrich says that it's reacting to something that isn't there. I think he means that it's undergoing some sort of withdrawl, as it was fine when Kit was using it in the lab but now that something has changed (absence of God's Blood) it's acting up. It's possible that Kit is waiting for a new shipment, but Morbi had her have that realization on the stairs for a reason.

Poda also seems to imply that the illness Renard has isn't natural, but rather it might of been afflicted onto him by the Specter of Fate's organization as part of a plan to get political favors from Kit.

If we guess correctly that Kit stopped using the God's blood, then the question is how is she making good progress on the cure if she kept hitting walls beforehand? She either science'd the fuck out of those slugs or the Specter is pissed she broke the contract and is giving her false hope before it fucks things up for her.

It's especially galling because conceptually it makes sense as a good romance and should be way less half-assed than a normal shoehorned webcomic romance. Morbi just totally fucked up the execution so it came out of left-field. There was no lead up.

Think about how a straight romance between major characters in an action-adventure series normally develops. How often do they just say "lmao us two characters love each other now and we're totally getting married" like these webcomic hacks do with lesbians? Almost never. There is always tons of preamble and usually a lot of development at least on one side before anything really happens. That's why these panderfests feel so forced, they just slap the motherfuckers together to get as many tumblr bucks as possible as soon as possible.

You're kind of isolating this event and grouping in a box without looking at the context of the characters themselves in order to push your own perspective. Try to look at the situation with less anger and look at why these two characters might even feel this way within the context of the story.

Poppy is old (from the story's perspective) Kit is naive and stressed. She is also a very nice and endearing person to Poppy and has opened up to her more than once despite her position. Poppy doesn't have much time left and she is the kind of person to just decide things on a whim and see what happens. Kit is impulsive and emotional and Poppy is likely one of the first people in her life that actually knows and cares about her real self. It's true that they haven't spent much time together before they got together but I feel that it fits both of their personalities.

Perhaps more time could have been spent setting up this romance thing but I feel that in the chapters they interacted with such feelings could be implied. I do not think your position is unreasonable but the presentation makes it feel like you didn't consider the characters themselves when you likely did.
