With this issue I finally figured out why I don't like this run so much. No one has a personality. They are just THERE to push the plot along. It doesn't help that the art highlights this. Most of the art is simply talking heads. No body language. No splash pages. No interesting angles. No interesting use of colors. No interesting expressions. Just blah. This whole run is utterly blah. The single attempt at humor fell like a rock. Diana is so utterly dull. Steve is so utterly dull. The rest is so utterly dull. How can you make a comic about a super powered woman with links to the gods of Olympus boring?

Johns and Giffen understand that sometimes something classic has run its course or doesn't work very well and have no problems changing a character into something they think will work better with the stories being written. I think Rucka's revamp of Doctor Cyber is a good change, even if he's not using it well, but his Cheetah stuff comes off as kinda pointless and a little waifuing and his Doctor Poison is hot garbage.
