>You both better take a nice, long look...
>Because today is the last time I ever wear this.
Hey folks.
Back from C2E2 this weekend, and picked up a Deluxe Edition of this book out of the multiple books in my haul.
Thought it would be a good excuse to have a gander at the recentlypartiallyrecanonized origin of the Big Blue Boy Scout.
Sit back, relax, and take it easy; this is Superman: Secret Origin!
>>91842830
I was there too Norrin, how was your C2E2 experience?
This goes for about 225 images, so be careful when posting images of your own.
Secret Origin,Batman Earth One or Shazam? Which is your favorite Geoff Johns and Gary Frank project
>>91843192
Secret Origin. Earth One isn't very good and Shazam is good but not amazing and the fact that there wasn't any follow up hurts it.
>>91843212
Fucking stupid of Clark to drop Lana like he did. he Could have at least hit it, like Superbro apparently did.
Bumping for interest.
I started reading this a few weeks back. Pretty good.
Im going to take a shot every time there is a face you could make a meme out of
>>91842830
So you'll be storytiming AC tomorrow right?
>>91842842
Pretty great.
Lotsa signatures, lots of books, lots of Cosplay. That Poutine at the Funimation bar was God Tier.
>>91844096
Of course.
>>91844106
Damn right! Though it was weird experience eating at the Funimation bar for me. James Tynion IV was on one side just chilling, then on the other Monty Python King Arthur cosplayer, and then a T-Rex dude who was having some fun with everyone at the bar before taking off the costume with another cosplayer friend.

This is such a great moment
Thanks for reading.

Fucking Clark absolutely BTFO him
Thanks, OP.
I've really grown to love the big blue, thanks to you, Norrin.
Cheers for the storytime.
thanks hoss been wanting to re-read this lately since all the rebirth stuff.
>>91852688
No prob.
The Reborn origin from the latest AC had a major missing element from Secret Origin though...
I wonder what is missing...
>>91843440
;___;
>>91853323
Secret Origin Lana seemed not too fond of the Smallville High Cheerleaders. Rebirth Lana looks like she's wearing a sweater with the school's logo over a cheer uniform.
>we'll never have this as matherial for Superman movie
Worst, fucking, timeline
>>91843194
>cool!
Made me laugh, I'm sold on it.
>>91845783
I fucking kek'd out loud
>>91842830
Someone storytimed this the last year. I wasn't able to finish reading it. Thanks Norrin.
>>91853323
The legion
>>91842830
Partial? I thought it was all back.
>>91844268
Huh. Johns never got to the Super-Sun or the death of Luthor.
>>91846666
Man, I love Superman.
>>91855310
Black Ring could be considered a death. Did he show up after that?
>>91855229
What we know is back is basically what we see here:>>91853323
The issue ends with Clark leaving Smallville, we won't know what the rest of the post-Reborn canon looks like until the next issue of AC.
>>91853664
Uhh this was literally based off the reeves movie
>>91855819
I need to rewatch those. Bit heavy on the Silver Age, but it's not like anybody is trying to top it.
>>91855819
But Reeves movie is outdated and doesn't have shared universe. I want Marvel-like one, but actually good.
>>91846869
>that face
>>91857055
Thanks for storytiming this, was a really fun read. Relatively new reader so I've never read a lot of the pre-New 52 stuff. Been meaning to go back and just binge Superman comics, especially post-Crisis, one of these days but just haven't had the time.
>>91857164
The Death of Superman was great. In a big bombastic comic way.
Superman for All Seasons.
Everything by Johns.
Everything by Busiek
(Basically I loved everything after Infinite Crisis.)
I'm sure there's more but I'm falling asleep and I spelt Busiek wrong three times before getting it right.
>>91857353
Awhile back I downloaded a big torrent that had all of Superman along with some of the other titles like Adventures of Superman and Action Comics. I'll probably just spend a bunch of rainy days reading through a lot of it starting with Man of Steel. Basically read my way through the 90s and 2000s. Seemed like it'd be a fun little summer reading project.
>>91842830
Bump
>>91842830
Bamp
>>91843307
Wonder if that's still canon
>>91843192
Secret Origin. I would dare say it's a timeless comic, one of Geoff's finest work. Earth One was great in Vol 2, with 1 being okay. I'll probably look on Shazam better if Captain Marvel gets rebirthed. As the other guy said, the fact that we didn't go any follow up on it (it's labeled Volume 1, and half a decade old) still sucked, and I would've been interested in seeing more of this Ultimate Universe style reinterpretation.
>>91842830
This shit fucking sucks.
>>91863899
Thanks for the bump, senpai.
Perfrct companion reading with today's issue. You're the best, Norrin.
