Look for "oskar/ferg/alf/kelly got more development than jackie and are more interesting", "ferg and alf were in the opening too thus it's 100% the same situation", "fat pig" etc comments to know there's a baiter about.

Obviously Jackie was being built up to something, and it's weird and shit writing if she'll actually end up getting dropped. At least half a dozen major characters in season 2 were not in the intro's big group shot at the end. Along with some characters who DID make the group shot yet were only in a single filler episode without any hint of future importance. The intro just isn't as important as everybody seems to think.

I got the impression regarding the Oskar thing, from Star's total lack of enthusiasm about it (when mention it to Moon, for example,) and how quickly she broke to the truth when she found out that she'd have to leave, that he's a non-factor in her heart now. They COULD do something like that if they wanted to string out the drama more, soap-opera style, but frankly I hope they don't.

Really, I think the whole Oskar thing in Starcrushed was meant to be a misdirect for the direction Season 3 could have gone (strung-out romantic drama and all) if not for "Toffee has returned."

"Just now" might be overstating it a bit, because that's about two-thirds of the season and several months that went by without her drooling over him.

Thing about Oskar, though, is that Star's head and heart never really liked him, and she found his one advocate her crotch no longer so hot for him the moment she needed the distraction. I'm not sure Oskar merits the dignity of getting closure for his plotline, seeing how from the beginning he (unlike Jackie) was used mainly as an example of the main character's terrible teenage romantic taste.

To me it's obvious that Star had a thing for Oscar. There's no denying it. I'm not entirely sure what's snapping her out of it though. Besides her current crush for Marco of course.

Star didn't develop feelings for Marco overnight either. Hell there wasn't any mention of feelings towards Marco all the way till S2.
Eventually though, she grew fond of him. Like really fond of him and now she's crushing on him.
I can't remember the exact moment a flicker of a doubt showed up in her mind. I'm sure I could pinpoint it if I re-watched the show though.
But either way, her feelings only grew stronger since she first noticed something was going on with her and Marco. And now we have a Star who is seemingly reluctant to have a relationship with Oscar and yet wants one really badly with Marco. But obviously can't because Marco is taken at the moment.
And he's going to be taken at the start of S3. Him dealing with his current relationship will be the reason he doesn't go after Star right away.

I can't wait to see how they handle it.

Star's initial attraction to Oskar was based on 2 things: she thought he was hot, and he was a rebellious kid. I don't have very many pictures but I can describe basically what her AU is somewhat generally accepted to be now... I say that, but I'm sure someone will prove me wrong.

MonStar appeared as a result of the MoonxToffee ship. As the inevitable alternate universe offspring of the Butterfly family. In this AU, both Monsters and Mewnians live in uneasy harmony. With a most Mewnians and Monsters alike considering MonStar to be an abomination that should never happened, considering racism is still rampantly high.
As a result, MonStar has a very difficult time making friends or even interacting with anyone around Mewni.
This results in her spending most of her time locked away in the castle, learning how to be a proper princess instead of going on adventures and fighting.
By extension of her more docile upbringing, MonStar has almost no combat abilities to speak of and is instead very composed and rarely shows that the constant negativity coming from those around her gets to her. So far as to actually being able to continue a conversation after being hit smack dab in the face.
She does break down however, when she knows no one is looking, or at the very least she's around people she considers safe, she suffers greatly.

As the Mewnians and Monsters continue to grow uneasy at the prospect of living together in peace, some rebel Mewnians start hatching a plan to assassinate Toffee and overthrow the current Butterfly Kingdom. Said rebels are led by none other than River Johansen.
As the assasination comes into effect, Queen Moon is forced to send MonStar to Earth for her own safety and in the hopes that her absence will somehow favor further peace negotiations.
MonStar is thrust into Earth with no proper training with her magic and no physical prowess to protect her against aggressors.
The aggressors, now become the school children as they do not take kindly to MonStar's looks and start bullying her daily.
Marco is still forced into sharing his home with MonStar and eventually, because of his own compassionate nature becomes progressively more and more friendly with MonStar.
To which MonStar reacts via developing strong feelings towards Marco. As he is the first outside source of actual care and compassion she's had for her entire life.
Marco however, now has to balance being friendly with MonStar out of his own empathetic nature and making sure that none of his school friends consider him to be a "Ligger lover.". In the fear that they would start to shun him out completely. Also worried that his chances with Jackie would go down the drain.

Seriously though, considering I'll never actually write a MonStar fic. Maybe a comic one off or two more. But this is what I would do:
>Arc one: The story of how Marco is finally the first one to cave in and fully befriend MonStar.
>Arc two: With the news that Marco is good friends with MonStar, the school shuns him as well. Now they have to figure out how to make the school sway their opinion. First ones to do so are familiar characters.
>Arc three: With the friend group being established, the school bullying grinds to an uneasy stop. Even if not many have fully accepted MonStar yet. Begin to foreshadow the inevitable fall of the Butterfly kingdom and the possible need for MonStar to come back to help her mother.
>Arc four: MonStar and co. is forced to return to Mewni in hopes to find a way to quell the Monster vs Mewnian rebellion. Chaos ensues. River is the main antagonist.
>Arc five: Figuring out how the fuck to deal with a world wide rebellion and return the Butterfly family to power.
>Arc six: Turns out River was just being a big jealous bubble blown baby and started fanning the flames of rebellion just because he still loved Moon.
>Arc seven: Things are finally on track to being fully figured out. Somewhere along the way MonStar shipped with Marco. Because obviously.

It's just an AU. The premise and main tones of the show kind of stick. The whole Monsters Vs Mewnians thing. I'd figure something out.

I initially wanted to just have a bunch of cute one-offs, but now I'm thinking something along the lines of the two heading into a very intimate relationship spurred on by Marco wanting to help his new roommate and Star latching onto the first person other than her parents to treats her normally in years. To be honest, I find most of the more extreme suffering to be grossly out of character, even for darker interpretations of the series. Marco has to transform into a completely different person for it to work if you want it to be blatant, and just having someone suffer is no good if there's no positive elements for it to play off of.
