To add to my peer's treatise, I would go further to claim that Gumball's morbid obesity as a direct result of Nicole's actions is a statement on the harmful nature of a parental relationship such as this. What Nicole is doing is a nurturing, maternal action in perhaps its most primal and iconic form, that of the mother bird feeding her children pre-chewed form. However it is an action that has been warped, corrupted to Nicole's own selfish ends and as a result this act of nurturing has been bastardized into something harmful to her young.

Furthermore the photograph in the background depicts Nicole's family, visibly shocked. This is most obvious in Richard, but if you look closely Darwin has what is colloquially known as a "thousand yard stare" suggesting having witnessed something traumatizing, while Anais and Nicole herself are cross-eyed, a sign of some confusion or even distress. This is a clear indication not only of the shock and horror her Nicole's family would feel if they discovered this, but of Nicole's own disgust at herself through time. It is not just her actions or role that has been corrupted, but also Nicole herself. Once upon a time, at the taking of the photo, Nicole too would be appalled by her behavior, yet there has been an apparent corruption of her values since.
