Hey /swco/, should I go back to rebels? I stopped when vader appeared because it got kind of fanficiony.

But lately I've been having a hankering for some extended universe stuff (that I can watch or play). And I dont feel like rewatching Clone Wars.

Should I continue on from where I left off in Rebels or is there something else worth watching/playing that'll get me over this brief Star Wars fix? Hell, I'm contemplating buying a SW lego game for a quick fix.

1. Is Pre Vizla force sensitive? There is no fucking way someone can use a lightsaber (or rather, a darksaber) so well and even successfully withstand fighting Jedi with it unless they have Force-enhanced reflexes like the Jedi.

2. Why nobody on Mandalor suspected that the Black Sun attacks were staged by the Death Watch who conveniently showed up to save the day at the right moment? Are they all so stupid?

The Clone Wars season 5 is absolute kino btw, boy that ending hit me hard

Quick question for anyone with knowledge of the EU: Was there any Skywalker who DIDN'T redeem themself after falling to the Dark Side? Even if only in a 'they came to realise the error of their ways' manner like Anakin.
>>
>>91756456
it's either in the middle or in the beginning of the First Order's attack on Maz's place. So I mean if there was more context it could be that they arrived on another side of the planet where the sun was setting earlier and then during the battle the sun could start setting over Maz's place so it'd make sense, but instead it's just inserted between two shots in broad daylight.

Before the film came out I thought that shot was going to be in the opening scene and the sun would set on Jakku right before the First Order's attack. That shot would've been an incredible introduction to them in the film imo.
>>
>>91756478
1. MANDALORE STRONK
2. They were following a blonde pacifist who wanted to remain neutral. So yeah some of them were.
>>
>>91756496
Yeah, but if you are swordfighting someone who uses magic to help them fight and predict your moves while you can't do that, you're pretty screwed.
>>
>>91756478

Several people in the cartoon use lightsabers without experience.

The shapeshifter manages to fight Ahsoka (rather briefly) with one.

Cad Bane takes Quinlan Vos's saber and fights Obi-Wan.

Hondo even manages to use a magna guard staff and have a go with Anakin before getting disarmed.

The main issue with using a lightsaber without training is that there's no weight to tell you where the blade is, so...you'd really think more of them would get cut or killed by their own blades.

>>91756489

I'm pretty sure Jaina killed Jacen without him ever turning back to the light

>>91756478
he spent his life practicing with it and training against jedi powers, and such skill is enough to temporarily put a jedi off balance
>>
>>91756474
I think that's kind of the point. Thrawn isn't human, and I'm really glad to see them doubling down on his uncanny valley look in the nu-canon
>>91756478
You don't need the Force to use a lightsaber, or to duel a Jedi with or without one, just the right skills and training. Having the Force helps, of course, but its not necessary
>>
>>91756532
Well there was Luuke, does he count?
>>
>>91756542
That would have been neat, panning down from the Finalizer to a lone TIE screaming out of the sunset and over Lor San's village and a worried looking Poe, before cutting to the night scene from the actual intro
>>
>>91756578
>>91756582
>>91756596
It's a matter of duel duration. A sufficiently skilled swordsman can hold his own with a jedi expecting an easy fight for a time. But in the long run, the Force will always win out.
>>
>>91756587

I think Jacen forced the issue, but I believe this is fact.

What kind of fringe benefits do I get?
Like, for instance some private time with the slave girls?
>>
>>91756582
Well yeah, with enough skill you can withstand against a Jedi for a brief period of time, but Vizla has been doing it too often and in rather lengthy battles.
>>
>>91756532
I mean what constitutes a Skywalker? Because the only characters that had the Skywalker name and used the Force were Anakin, Luke, Mara Jade, and Ben, and the only one who went to the dark side was Anakin unless you count Luke and Mara but they never went full dark side so they don't really count. But if you're including Leia and Han's kids then the only one to go to the dark side was Jacen and he wasn't redeemed. Jaina killed him and that was that.
>>
>>91756666

Stamina's an issue as well, of course, but in general you're right. Dooku would have died when the nightsisters (who except for Ventress) were not probably trained in the use of a lightsaber extensively if not for that last bit of rage where he shocked the fuck out of them.
>>
>>91756532
By Skywalker family, I assume you mean everyone descended from Shmi and not just the ones who bore the same family name?

If so, then yeah, there's a few dickheads in the bunch who we never really saw stop being dickheads. Jacen is the most notable example who died without really redeeming himself in any big way - the closest he got was sending out a warning to his wife to flee a biological agent that was gonna strike soon, which causes Jaina to see a remnant of the good man he once was but doesn't actually involve him returning to the light.

If not, then no. I don't think anybody who actually has the name Skywalker ever died without redeeming themself or being good to begin with.
>>
>>91756700

Vizla's got that mandalorian faggotry where even though they're just normal people they can fight Jedi.

Jango killed a Jedi with guns, though, so, he's got worse bullshit than Vizla.
>>
>>91756578
His goal was never to fight force sensitives with the thing. He used the Darksaber to have control over all the normal Mandalore humans who did not have the force.
>>
>>91756700
he lucks out for a while, but his luck runs out pretty quick with maul

>>91756712
Don't forget Grievous. He has robotics to prevent stamina being a problem, but sooner or later, that artificially enhanced skill will allow Force users to learn his style and start piercing openings. Invariably, Grievous loses any lightsaber battle where he doesn't cheat, and even when he cheated, Obi-Wan killed him.

His Force Ghost even tells Luke and Ben in FotJ unapologetically that he was absolutely firm in his convictions to the very end, does not regret it because he truly believes he was right, and that his remaining existence in the Force is basically "eternal damnation". His final act in life was to reach out to the woman he loved to warn her about the danger their child was in. A good and selfless act to be sure, but not an act intending to atone for everything he did.

The issue with Grievous is that he apparently cannot hear or control the Force (or his lack of biological components has incredibly dulled how well he can hear it). His reflexes may account for this, somewhat, but despite being trained in lightsabers he only seems to resist the Force with his strength

It should be noted, however, that he is actually in rather poor health and (at least in the episode where Fisto goes to his home) his parts can suffer from damage.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is going to be downloadable for free on Xbox soon. So if you still want to play that, and you have an xbox, wait until then to get it for free.

Also yeah, watch Rebels. Vader is treated with the same respect that Rogue One did. Nobody from the Ghost nor' Pheonix Squadron ever has a chance against him, and the finale of that season is amazing. He was just introduced to up the stakes, and force Ezra from his home.

Grevious was a fuckin idiot
>have the two Jedi and the chancellor trapped and unable to escape in that energy column or whatever the fuck he trapped them in on his ship
>have them completely surrounded by droids
>can have them killed on the spot easily
>"ok bring them to the cabin of the ship so I can show them my lightsaber collection"
>oh fuck they escaped

And before you say it was all part of Sheev's plan answer this: why didn't he just plan to have the three of them escape in Anakin or Obi-Wan's ships instead of intentionally getting captured and then hoping none of them are fucking killed by either the droids on the ship or killed in the explosion of the ship crashing on coruscant
>>
>>91756907
How long could it last? The show was already at 6 seasons but the war itself only lasted 3 years, and even then it didn't cover the part where Anakin was still a padawan. How does it all fit anyway?

Sheev was feeling cocky as shit after somehow convincing Dooku to let himself get killed by Anakin chopping his hands off and then decapitating him while not shouting "SHEEV IS A SITH LORD" before Anakin made his first ISIS video

he probably felt invincible, which he was because it was only the beginning of the movie so he knew the three of them had 0 chance of getting killed and could do whatever they wanted without consequence

By being mostly focused on, at most, about a weeks worth of fighting per arc for the most part
But yeah, even by the end it was obvious the war was winding down as the Seppies prepared for a big 'do or die' push to Coruscant
I think the last season was going to cover the Siege of Mandalore (touched on a little in the Ashoka book) and then end with Anakin, Obi-Wan and the rest of the 501st being pulled out to defend Coruscant

>1. Is Pre Vizla force sensitive?
No.
> There is no fucking way someone can use a lightsaber (or rather, a darksaber) so well and even successfully withstand fighting Jedi with it unless they have Force-enhanced reflexes like the Jedi.
Yes they can. Lightsabers, in function, work almost exactly like real swords. The Force (through the crystal and blade) actually generates something that acts as a counterweight. So anyone who knows how to use a sword would actually almost do decently with a Lightsaber.

>2. Why nobody on Mandalor suspected that the Black Sun attacks were staged by the Death Watch who conveniently showed up to save the day at the right moment? Are they all so stupid?
It's not like they were in a position to refuse them. Satine's regime wasn't armed to repell Black Sun, the Pyke Syndicate and the Hutt's simultaneously. I doubt they'd be able to do the same to a disciplined and trained military Force who's training is only exceeded by the Jedi and the Sith.

Also, it really helped that right after, promises were made to make everyone as mighty as the regular Death Watch goon.
>>
>>91757064
a few months?? wtf I thought there were only 3 years between ATOC and ROTS. You mean the 6 seasons of TCW take place in just over 2 years?
>>
>>91756997
>>91756888

It was planned to last until Season 8. Each season takes place over a few months in the war, with occasional timeskips.

The Clone Wars had so many characters and battles that they could cram so much into a few months without it being a problem.

The original ending (which is still being treated as canon) was going to be set alongside Revenge of the Sith.

The arc would open up with Ahsoka and Anakin talking, right before Anakin rushes off to save the Chancellor. Ahsoka, while not a Jedi, is now back and fighting for the Republic, and Anakin gave her half of the 501st with his blessing. They had changed their armor to orange in honor of Ahsoka. Rex is with them. Ahsoka would go to Mandalore to fight Maul, while Anakin and Obi-Wan went to get Dooku.

It's not completely clear how this arc was going to end, but most people speculated was that the original idea was that Ahsoka would kill (or seemingly kill) Maul, and then Order 66 would happen. Rex, who following the Fives incident had removed his chip, would help Ahsoka escape into hiding, ending the show on a bittersweet note.

I don't think we know for sure.

A few years ago when Filoni was first talking about this Mandalore battle, he seemed to imply that Rex helped her escape, which would imply that she was still targeted by Order 66.

But they haven't properly shown what happened yet. Only winks and nods, and a very small flashback in the Ahsoka book. They haven't shown anything of Ahsoka when the order came down, so I don't think we have a concrete answer on that yet.

If its the first then Ashoka probably snuck away mostly thanks to not being a Jedi, with Rex covering for her
If its the second then Rex is quite possibly the only reason she managed to survive, considering how Sheev would absolutely modify the order to eliminate Ashoka in case she gets in the way of his plan for Anakin

I can dig it.

Hiddleston would probably cream his pants at the opportunity too.

Maybe Mcdiarmid should direct. He's supposedly always fancied the idea that at one time there was once something 'human' about Palpatine before he became evil incarnate.

Hyperspace cuts down on travel time significantly, and there's enough Jedi about that command can be transferred pretty easily between them, like what happened with Pong Krell on Umbara
As for Obi's hair, that entire string of episodes was odd, they introduce a face changing machine that feels ripped from the pages of Judge Dredd then literally never mention it again. I guess Obi just wanted his old face back, magnificent beard and all

Nobody knows. Some people believe that Filoni pulled the plug on his own terms and is building up a new project, others believe Disney and Kennedy is trying to remove him because he's actively trying to preserve George's vision.
>>
>>91758111
The 'confirmation' was from Freddie Prinze Jr talking about there being 7 seasons worth of material they could work with, if not more.
Filoni's electing to end it on 4 because of a new animation project he's working on. No concrete details yet but rumours suggest its set either in the ST era or in the 30 year transition between the OT and ST
But people are going to start talking to you about a conspiracy theory by Disney forcing him to shut down the series despite it pulling decent ratings even just on XD

It's just that Episode III makes it look like returning to Coruscant is big deal, Anakin misses Padme like he has't seen her in months and is even glad Greivous attacked because otherwise he'd still be stuck fighting battles in the Outer Rim. But in the cartoon he's back on Coruscant half the time.

Maybe they have stimulants or something that makes hair grow faster?

It was actually very successful considering its timeslot and channel, and on reruns on Disney. Of course it probably would have done a lot better if it AIRED on Disney, or with Netflix or something. Still, I highly doubt Disney would have pulled the plug on anything that printed money, and Rebels has been doing that in spite of the shitty cheap merch they've offered through Hasbro.

The fact that it went on for four seasons and Filloni got a promotion during that time means it probably did at least what they wanted it to do. I don't think they ever had any plans on it being as big as TCW, considering they put it on Disney XD rather than Disney proper or even Cartoon Network.

Sabine, Hera, and Chopper are canonically confirmed to be alive after ROTJ.
Rex is heavily implied to be the Rebel Commando on Endor.
Ezra is guaranteed to live being the teen protag of a kids show.
Kanan and Zeb are a bit iffy, and are really the only characters who have a chance of dying.

>>91758382
Successful is a very variable word, especially in the entertainment industry. Plus we only have initial broadcast ratings, not repeat ratings, views on online services, DVD and merch sales, all that behind the scenes jazz

Anon, m8, its a just youtube series.

It's literally a youtube series that is going to get a small tv airing once all the episodes are out.

If you don't think it looks fine for a youtube series, then I don't know what to tell you. It looks fine.

Why would you expect (or even want) a high budget production for what amounts to 3-minute-shorts?

Yeah but if it was a Rebels situation Eli would probably be placed on another ship because Thrawn's a massive user and exerting influence over multiple ships would be ideal especially if they are completely incompetent.

I just finished Thrawn. Judging by the ending, I think he kept Eli around because he was basically a blank slate for him to pass his knowledge onto, so he'd have someone just as competent as him to send back to the Unknown Regions to defend the Chiss, as well as the fact that he simply saw Eli's potential.

Or maybe they were banging the whole time, I've been wrong before.
>>
why is an uber-rich dark side fella from the outer reaches so dangerous that thrawn freaks out about it?
>>
>>91759818
Have not read it but some of the consensus here is Vos acts retarded for no reason
>>
>>91760673
Snoke and his people aren't the only threats in the Unknown Regions. Thrawn implies there are multiple different kinds of threats, some of the weakest ones being lowly pirates. LSG is hiding what the strongest ones are.
>>
>>91760499
Eli's clearly Thrawn's favourite but he has to make concessions. For example, there's a weird bit in the Thrawn Trilogy where the mad jedi mindtricks Pellaeon in order to make a clone of himself and later he mindrapes another Imp soldier until he dies because he can't exist without codependency. Thrawn also has access to a whole bunch of force negative lizards which he himself uses to protect himself from mad jedi's influences.

Then why doesn't he protect Pellaeon who he clearly likes/respects/confides in?

One fan theory which I thought was particularly excellent contended that Pellaeon was under Thrawn's direct supervision and would have been unlikely to be mindraped because Thrawn's keeping an eye out on him and Pellaeon is essential to Thrawn's plan unlike some other random Imp which mad jedi would consider disposable. So it's better if it's Pellaeon and not someone else.

I think this particular example illustrates that Thrawn is highly tactical in his considerations and on some level tactics trumps friendship.

In prior books, Thrawn has multiple people he trusts. Parck, Pellaeon, Car'das which means that there's multiple people around. Parck he sends to the Unknown Regions to do what Eli does now. Pellaeon is his tactical advisor and Car'das is just... well a friend who actually kind of works against him on some levels eventually.

Since he isn't close to Parck in nucanon and Eli and Pellaeon have been combined into one person with somewhat astute abilities and his fleet is quite bad at following orders or coming up with their own stratagems I think that Thrawn would definitely place Eli on another ship and leave him to fend for himself (because Eli is quite capable and he's been trying to raise Eli as a successor). This gives him the opportunity to expand his influence at the small cost of having one person less to confide in. I suppose they could still communicate but I don't think Rebels Thrawn has much luxury.
>>
>>91760673

Because he didn't know how to deal with it.

And he didn't know that he sought help from someone who was far far worse.
>>
>>91760436
I'm pretty sure Pryce would've been replaced by Eli and things would have went very differently for the Rebels.

>I think he kept Eli around because he was basically a blank slate for him to pass his knowledge onto
Was I the only one that thought Eli was nothing remarkable? What did Thrawn see in him?
>>
>>91760772
>Our time has come. For 300 years, we prepared, we grew stronger.
>>
>>91760673
We have no verification Thrawn is talking about Snoke.
>>
Pellaeon and Eli are not the same. Eli has Pellaeon's place as Thrawn's closest confidant but the entire character as developed of Pellaeon was reinterpreted into Wullf Yularen through TCW, Rebels, and the Thrawn novel. They looked the same anyway.
>>
>>91760849
>>91760772
as cool as Snoke being ONE bad dude from the Unknown Regions (old TOR king or aristocrat) would be it would really suck if they're postponing the real story for the next trilogy some Vong type of invaders
>>
>>91760822
Pryce would have been replaced but the other captains are as irresponsible as ever.

And as for Eli not being remarkable:
>“I notice, though, that you haven’t answered my question,” Car’das said. “You’re here to protect the Empire from Warlord Nuso Esva. But why am I here?”
>“Because my forces are busy in the Unknown Regions, tied down with the defense of my allies,” Thrawn said. “Because I’m alone, and it’s always useful to have an extra set of eyes or hands.”
>“But why me?” Car’das persisted. “You have the Emperor’s ear. Why not a Royal Guard, or some brilliant junior fleet officer?” He snorted. “Why not Vader himself?
>Thrawn smiled…and to Car’das’s amazement, there was sadness in the other’s normally calm expression. “Because,” he said quietly, “you’re the only one I trust.”
>Car’das stared at him, some of his own self-pity fading away into a fresh pool of shame. Thrawn had left everything: his home, his people, his prestige, his life. He’d dedicated himself to protecting the civilized parts of the galaxy against pirates, warlords, and distant, nameless nightmares that Car’das could barely even imagine.
>And yet, in the end, all that work and sacrifice had come down to this. The greatest military mind of the age, with only a single, solitary, worthless man whom he could trust. “I’m sorry,” he said quietly.
He's lonely as a fuck.
>>
>>91760747
He was pretty weird in the one episode he appeared in as well. But I'm mostly interested in Ventress' story, I really became interested in her after Seasons 4-5.
>>
>>91760822
Most of his tactical skill is really just being able to follow along with what Thrawn is doing without going "but that's crazy!" like a lot of the officers he encounters. He's shown to develop a keen sense of following Thrawn's ideas and the logic behind them, but he never really gets much of a chance to shine on his own or to really prove he can apply what he's learned.
>>
>>91760862

>>
>>91760862
They're not and Pellaeon isn't Yularen either.

Eli's vastly more ambitious than Pellaeon and Yularen, well, took the intiative to follow and accost Thrawn so he's a bit suspicious of Thrawn whereas TTT Pellaeon is much more passive and doesn't really take initiative.

>The University of Sanbra concluded that the fact that all Chiss often appeared in very good physical shape was an indication that the species possessed an active metabolism which was responsible for their trim figure and lower body temperature.
The wook article is actually scientifically incorrect. A higher metabolism would lead to a higher body temperature not a lower one. In humans BMR is regulated primarily by the thyroid hormones. To increase BMR, we ↑ production of thyroid hormones leading to an ↑ in body heat leading to characteristics of hyperthyroidism: fast heartbeat, heat intolerance, weight loss ("trim figure")

>it is likely that the greater availability of free and biologically active thyroid hormones could help the body to adapt to cold by increasing nonshivering thermogenesis

In the hypothyroid state people tend to gain weight and become sluggish and suffer from cold intolerance.

I like to imagine Thrawn as the Hari Seldon of Star Wars so he'd probably try taking everyone and everything he wants. In Lengends and now Disney Canon he's clearly been bleeding talent off the Empire and that Unknown Regions scouting is clearly fertile grounds for some very purposeful 'loss' of talented officers, it's not like anyone can confirm that the soldiers are dead.

I'd think he'd try with a core nucleus of people like Eli, Nightswan and Kallus but on top of officers there's stuff like Death Star/superweapons to deal with so if he'd been in RO I can imagine him trying to pull some engineers out from under Krennic.

Is there ANY Youtuber who actually knows what they are talking about?

I mean an actual well-spoken and passionate person who has a good understanding of Legends, but who also has been following Canon, and is able to cite events, lore, stories, Lucasfilm members, ect, with accurate information to present actual insightful videos.

Because the only prominent Youtuber's I see;

>clickbait fucks with obnoxious personalities who know nothing about Star Wars
>Star Wars """""""""""""""variety"""""""""""""""" channels that only talk about Battlefront, and the latest movie trailer, obviously just vidya fans rather than Star Wars fans
>Lore channels that obviously read from Wookieepedia rather than actually follow the series, often getting EU/Canon info mixed

IGN was one of the only channels I saw to acknowledge Shattered Empire's connection to Battlefront 2, with most so-called Star Wars experts clueless about the Sheevbot. But IGN also had no fucking clue about the Battle of Jakku in their video either, so what the fuck man, where do I go for good Star Wars videos?

>so what the fuck man, where do I go for good Star Wars videos?

That's the trick, you don't. Star Wars videos were pretty ok during the EU era. When the axe came down in 2014, it divided the new-canon and Expanded Universe followers. Then came the new fans who were learning and are still learning much about the canon both old and forthcoming.

The only good "videos" you'd find on Star Wars are fan-films. You can go catch up on your lore in the official Star Wars Databank, novels, the published visual dictionaries, or any other SW related media. Even Wookiepedia is kind of decent on its own.

I prefer his canon design. The more defined and unusual skull is neat, the pupils make him less of a generic edgelord. Easier to understand in visual animation too. You have to understand that he actually has an on-screen presence this time.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no.

Your only source for good info is Wookieepedia. If you go through Legends, be prepared to sift through mountains of shit to get the good stuff, and keep in mind that a lot of its editors are literal autism so they have a tendency to exaggerate or fanon articles.

If you go through Canon, be prepared for extreme disappointment if it involves anything outside the OT/PT. While the Expanded Universe had mountains of shit, it did have good bits. Disney's exchanged that for boring, boring, boring steppes of monotonous nothingness.

inb4 STOP DISRUPTING THE THREAD WITH UR DISNEY H8
>>
>>91777892
>be prepared for extreme disappointment if it involves anything outside the OT/PT.
Are you looping the post-3/pre-4 era in there? Because nuCanon has done a great job at developing that time.

Sure, almost everything takes place sometime between Episode I and Episode VII (the only exception so far being the new Maul comic). But outside of Aftermath, the post-Jedi bits -- Shattered Empire, Bloodlines, and Lost Stars -- have been solid, and Battlefront looks great too.

Yeah, Legends had some great shit in other eras, but you've also gotta give nucanon some time. It hasn't even been three years yet, and it makes sense that they're spending time beefing up the main eras.
>>
>>91771945
Star wars explained does pretty much that
>>
>>91777892
Canon is also only 3 years old, compared to Legends' 30.

The reason the Post-ROTJ & Pre-TPM Era's are so barren is simply because they're starting from scratch, so building around Lucas's movies is the priority. They'd be foolish to have major expansions beyond the movies, when they haven't even filled in the gaps of the Original Trilogy.

The stuff they have given us is mostly solid. Sure you can cherrypick Wendigshit, but Bloodlines, Lost Stars, Thrawn, these are some of the best Star Wars stories I have read, period.

It's hard to be disappointed in the Canon Old Republic Era when they haven't even started showing it properly. (But the lore teases they've had so far have been top notch)

Just enjoy things slowly. We're getting annual movies, that's crazy in itself. The fact that they're still managing to not rush into things is impressive.

They waited three years to reveal Thrawn, despite knowing from scratch that they wanted him. They are years ahead of us. They probably have big ideas for Old Republic expansions, but they'll get to that once they do ESB->ROTJ, which is also similarly blank in Canon.

The biggest recommendation I can have is to enjoy things slowly. Enjoy the OT and PT Era's being expanded, and enjoy things as they slowly expand outwards.

There's no need for huge Old Republic stories when we're in the middle of the Sequel Trilogy of MOVIES. And yeah I know the PT was being made alongside KOTOR, but Canon is being built very differently this time. Primarily in that all the comics and games are actually canon. So yeah, things are going slowly, and that's not necesarilly a bad thing.
>>
>>91778056
I've seen a few videos, and I noticed inaccuracies and poor presentation that were off-putting.

I can give him a more extensive chance, but I just don't think that channel is the quality I want.

At least he isn't StarWarsHQ I guess.

>>91778530
Star Wars Explained never really has a lot of big presentation to their videos, but they're presented pretty objectively, which is nice, and they don't go out of their way to make a big personality or anything. Kind of dry, but overall sound.
>>
>>91778495
>Canon is being built very differently this time. Primarily in that all the comics and games are actually canon. So yeah, things are going slowly, and that's not necesarilly a bad thing.
Not just canon, but integrated together in a way that the old EU never was outside certain set projects
Take Rogue One's connections to Rebels for example, not only do you have the obvious reference with the Ghost and Chopper, the battle from the season 3 finale shows us why the Rebellion is against grouping its fleet together to attack Scarif. They remember the last time they bunched up to attack a major Imperial installation they were caught in a trap that cost them dearly
>>
>>91778530
The guy who does StarWarsHQ sounds like a kid I went to high school with. He was an incredibly annoying aspie but was otherwise pretty damn smart, yet emphasis on aspie and absolute social retardation despite genius at everything else.

He almost got the shit kicked out of him multiple times before he couldn't stop kicking peoples' chairs when he sat behind them. Around the seventh time it happened he finally quit before a highschool gank squad formed up on him.

One of them was me. Fuck that guy.

StarWarsHQ only infuriates me more because of every nasally and awkward inflection, it's like another kick from that sperg whenever anyone had the misfortune of sitting in front of him.
>>
>>91778605

I don't like that Rebels is such a focal point to most of the nuCanon so far.

It's a badly animated, low-budget literal child's cartoon that airs on Disney's channel for literal child cartoons.

Yet this low budget child cartoon has so far been the centerpiece or connecting element to no fewer than five major aspects of nuCanon.

It's like if Disney decided to base their movies off of Family Guy's Star Wars parody. That's the same level of non-quality we're talking about here, and only mildly less autistic.

No it is not. The animation is fluid and pushes the limits of the budget they were given. It has been very enjoyable to watch.

>low-budget
It has a good budget for a cartoon. TCW was in an entirely other league because it was being personally funded by Lucas who's goal was to bring the quality of blockbuster movies to the small screen. Bless that man.

>literal child's cartoon
Is this where you are going to tell me that Star Wars is not for children?

>that airs on Disney's channel for literal child cartoons.
Yes, the Disney-owned franchises tv show airs on a Disney-owned channel. This is somehow surprising and a bad thing. Okay.
>>
>>91778816
Connected to but not crucial, its just filling in the edges and providing some neat new context for other stuff
You know, like an expanded universe show should?
>>
>>91778939
There's stuff in TCW that I think verges on crucial, regarding Anakin and the lore on the Force.

Then big things Like Vader/Ahsoka and the formation of the Rebel Alliance are in Rebels.

I mean, you can ignore them and stick to the movies if you want to be a normie, but you can't pretend that only important stuff happens in them.

Take Vader for example, the main character of the saga (at least until TFA). In Rogue One, he only has a cameo appearance. In TCW, he bonds with an apprentice for 5 seasons, amplifying his fall to the dark side, before fighting her to the death in the climactic Rebels S2 finale. You'd be an utter fool to say Vader's role in RO was more important just because that's a movie.

Star Wars is a collection of "big" stories surrounded by smaller ones, across all mediums. I know plenty of people who got into Star Wars through the comics and vidya. An entire generation grew up with TCW airing on tv, and probably didn't see a movie until TFA. Someone earlier in this very thread in fact, mentioned that he has seen all of the tv episodes, but was only just getting to the movies now.

Look at how George Lucas was talking about bringing Star Wars to the tv. The intention was never to make something that people would shrug off as "not crucial". It was, and is, simply more Star Wars. And that's why it works. That is why the fans, actual fans, will watch, and read, and play. It's more Star Wars. Big story, small story, doesn't matter. Even the movies have smaller stories to pad things out.

I don't get why you're getting flustered that I, speaking from personal experience as a child, wouldn't have enjoyed that weird star wars dancing stuff and would've preferred almost any other alternative form of entertainment

You seem edgy, saying how you were way better than having fun as a kid. Like the kid that said 'Star Wars isn't very scientific'

Okay, that's good for you, but obviously a lot of people like it, or she wouldn't be getting paid for it. It's harmless fun. Like a comedy stage play.

You're putting words in my mouth, and again getting annoyed that I wouldn't have enjoyed a grown up pretending to be a side character from a mediocre cartoon and dancing with a pretend lightsaber

I love star wars - and I love kids enjoying star wars thats what the whole franchise is about, but christ how embarrassing that dancing around stuff is

A child twi'lek slave in a revealing outfit, how the fuck did that slip past the editor
>>
>>91779689
That Twi'lek is clearly not an adult. She's half that mans height, even in the other panels.

Big eyes, button nose, small lips and plump cheeks. And most obviously, the Lekku are much shorter than adult Twi'leks too.

She is certainly not space legal.

I don't even like rebels but that costume is fucking impressive

it lights up and everything. Shit. as a cosplayer, I can respect that.

>how the fuck did that slip past the editor
Maybe it's allowed? Comics are much looser with restrictions and shit.

They've already had very violent stuff, and direct references to sex and nudity.

That guy is supposed to look like an asshole, in a seedy bar, with a slave of questionable age.

As long as they don't show him literally fucking her, I think its fine.

Whoa dude, you are making an assumption about me. I actually don't mind the youtube shorts, I think they're fine. If you don't like them, they're obviously not for you.

Imagine having to fuck this guy.

Seriously, imagine looking up at this disgusting, smelly man. His head is a grotesque malformed cone, and he has fucking grates for eyes.

Imagine his poorly-shaven beard brushing against your lips every time he moves in to kiss you.

Poor girl would be better off sucking Imperial cock in a brothel on Ryloth.
>>
>>91779728
Anyone who says they're the end of star wars is baiting you retard
>>
>>91779728
I think those shorts are harmless. They'll be mostly forgotten a month after they air anyways. Maybe they'll be fun.

The toys will not sell and will probably be cancelled, and if they do sell it just means more future Star Wars fans which isn't bad.

As for the live action dancing, I don't really care. It's harmless fun, no need to be upset over it.

I liked it every time we got reminded Anakin's arm was made of metal
Like when he got infuriated that there were Zygerians and he crushed that holo-communicator thing
Or when Clovis goads him into fighting "without [his] jedi tricks" and Anakin smashes his metal hand against clovis' squishy flesh one and clovis immediately makes this incredibly pained scream
>>
>>91779728

I genuinely think it's a lack-of-god thing. Humans need a god and when god is proclaimed dead by postmodernism people have looked to other avenue's to fill that god-shaped hole in their hearts.

For some people that's celebrity gossip, for some people that's fitness, for some people it's star wars. And that means that star wars is infallible, and can do no wrong - even if it's a bunch of fucking autists cheering at underpaid actors parading around in cheap star wars suits and dancing to michael jackson.

It's fucking pathetic and I wholeheartedly think they need to find jesus.

Ahsoka matures gradually and becomes a very entertaining and compelling character.

She usually grows very fast on the audience. There's a reason she is a fan favorite today, despite a huge backlash to her introduction.

You do realise one of the key themes in star wars is that God is real, right?
"It's true. All of it" Is the most direct reference to this, but it's present in all of the movies

George even says the force is his way of interpreting god, and believes in god himself

It's probably a bunch of shit from the Journal of the Whills.

"The truth in our soul,
Is that nothing is true.
The question of life
Is what then do we do?
The burden is ours
To penance, we hew.
The Force binds us all
From a certain point of view.”
