However with "Tales of the TMNT" as the title and them killing off Super Shredder I kind of expected this to go into a non-plot, completely episodic direction. Instead we got a coherent plot continuation, if an odd one, with no filler episodes. It felt to me like the season *for* filler episodes, now that all the plot points were resolved, so you could get a Karai episode, an Usagi episode, Mutanimals, underused mutants (remember Snakeweed or Alopex? the writers don't), turtles going topside for Halloween and what have you.
