She hates herself for being born and being unable to save her own Diamond despite her enormous strength. She's not entirley wrong about Rose taking in Gems at their lowest who had nothing else, but she is wrong in thinking it was a bad thing.

Jasper is fervent about the HW philosophy "if you can't do what you were made for you're worthless" entirely because that's how she feels about herself: worthless, for being constantly beaten despite her overwhelming strength. It drives her crazy to fail at her own reason for being, but she refuses to find another purpose because she sees it as going the same way as Rose Quartz, the person she hates most.

I don't expect her to join the CGs just like that, but she does need to find a new way.

The thing is, they don't renounce their beliefs.

The core CGs want HW off Earth for good, Peridot feels that Earth can be developed sustainably for it's resources, Lapis gives zero shits about the crystal gems, wants to return to the old HW and spends all her time chilling or chatting with steven on the video chat, and Bismuth was a potential war criminal (though admittedly they did jail her for that). Hell, they were even fine with Navy being a drooling retard even though that was an act.

The only thing they really have in common is that they want Earth and humanity to continue existing because they live there/they like some of the inhabitants.

Jasper would be pretty much the same, wandering the Earth, annoying Greg with questions on how to kill a Rose Quartz, trying to implement a military training schedule and occasionally harassing people. She probably wouldn't give a shit about the ethos of the core crystal gems, she'd just feel betrayed by Homeworld for basically being dicks.

The Breaking Point was objectively a stupid fucking idea when she first had it too.

The Crystal Gems were outgunned and outmanned on a mind-boggling scale. There is no possible way they could ever have actually WON against Homeworld and I don't think that was ever Rose's intention.

Rose was fighting a defensive war to try and make Earth independent in hopes Homeworld wouldn't waste the resources it would take to wipe them all out and they could have their city on a hill while Homeworld went home.

The Crystal Gems had one Bismuth. Homeworld had thousands. Anything Bismuth could make, Homeworld could mass produce, which means the Breaking Point is a weapon that will overwhelmingly favor Homeworld after its first use because Rose's rejects against Homeworld's super-soldiers when both are equipped with gem-shattering technology is still going to be really fucking one-sided.

Homeworld can grow new soldiers on any given planet to keep their numbers up, and they outnumber the rebels by a lot. At the time of the war, literally 100% of the crystal gems are defectors from Homeworld's forces and they've agreed kindergartens are morally wrong. If you kill enemy soldiers, you can't recruit them, and Homeworld is thinning your numbers much faster now because SOMEBODY had to up the ante and Rose can't heal shattering.

The Breaking Point would have doomed the rebellion if it had ever been employed. The power to shatter randos would not have been any tactical advantage; if anything, taking all their enemies alive was in Rose's best interest because the Crystal Gems can ONLY increase their numbers by converting enemies, and the others can serve as hostages.

Hell, I'm like 90% sure the reason Pink Diamond died was because Rose took her hostage to try and have leverage with the other three for Earth's freedom but the diamonds called her bluff.

This is probably exactly where they're going with Jasper. An antagonist who becomes an ally but never losers all of their edge. SU has already had a couple homages to DBZ I think, and there's zero chance that Sugar isn't aware of it considering the ideas pulled from other anime and how popular Vegeta was as a character.

She never, ever forgives Rose Quartz, but comes to accept Steven is not her. Similarly, she and Lapis work together, but neither of them forgives or forgets Malachite.

Even their circumstances and motivations are similar. Both were born to fight and have never known anything else. Both have a backstory of their home/purpose being destroyed. Both are constantly displaying bravado and arrogance and only find self-worth in the fight. Meanwhile they're hiding severe insecurities, pain, and feelings of inadequacy.

In a redemption path Jasper, like Vegeta, would have to find something else meaningful in her life and in herself besides the fight that she was born into.
