It's funny. For someone who was conceptually designed to be Rapunzel's BFF, Cass' best interactions are almost all with Eugene, and her interactions with Rapunzel have her looking like a selfish jerk.

Flynn never really struck me as much of a smooth talker in the original movie. Then again he spent most of it dealing with a whole bunch of shit. What he IS is a quick thinker who's good at coming up with ideas and plans on the fly.

Well she's still naive and cheerful (see 'boos are an exotic cheer, right?') but she's also actually had chances to learn about the world so it does make sense she acts a bit older.

Personally I really like the dynamic of Eugene and Rapunzel's relationship in the series. Eugene is remarkably less cocky and snarky around Rapunzel than anyone else, which shows that he's entirely comfortable around her and doesn't default to the persona he built up over many years.

I think part of the issue is that Rapunzel's own hangups and issues are going to be tied very closely with the 'main' plot line of the thorn rocks and her hair, and that's apparently a slow burn. I like the individual episodes but also really wish they'd tie in more to an overarching plot. With any luck that'll happen soon.

Eugene and Cassandra don't look particularly alike, their hair, eye, and skin colors are different, and their eyes, ears, and noses are shaped differently. I might need to look at Rapunzel, the king and the queen to see how this show handles those sorts of relationships in character models.

So far the dialog has been fantastic. Really well written and really well delivered.
Most of the actual episode stories are doing absolutely nothing for me though. I still haven't finished the one about Monty or the one where Cassandra joins the tournament because I just found them boring.
