I've seen this debate go on across multiple threads, not just this one, trying to measure "how much" love Batman shows his Robins like DBZfags arguing over power levels. It's retarded. Jason isn't given "more affection" on panel from Bruce because he's just so much more wuvable, it's because the 80s was a different era, so the writers could dedicate three whole pages to Bruce warning Jason about the dangers of drugs, or a soap operatic storyline about a villainess whose end goal was to insert herself as Batman's waifu and Jason's momfu, because of the changing standards of "what's worth page time?" in increasingly-decompressed comic books. Of COURSE 20-to-30 page stories which are themselves only part of a larger story have more focus on low-key character beats than, say, the 15-or-fewer page stories in the more anthology-style Batman and Detective Comics back when Dick was Robin.

It certainly didn't help that anytime Bruce showed affection to Dick in the pre-code era, that was used as ammo for Wertham's "COMICS ARE MAKING KIDS QUEER" argument.

It's just cherry picking to back up the opinion that you already have about "who was muh favorite Robin - I mean, BATMAN'S favorite Robin".

I do think that there'll be a lot of awareness of the dynamic between the two of them, but I do think that that part of the relationship has grown by this point.

I'm positive my mom's son is her favourite child. Although to be fair, her daughter is honestly such a rude child....no actually it was sort of the sons fault since he kept trying to beat her up but she just grew bigger and badder than him. Both children together are honestly capable of being nightmares if they get upset....all the time. I almost feel bad for my mother, but she used to be really horrible to me, so this is what she gets.

Funny enough the daughter is the father's favourite.
