The weird little world this comic has set up has a lot of potential for parody and bizarre slice of life comedy, but the only punchlines we ever get are really bad puns. And if your only joke is to tell the same ironically bad joke over and over again, the strip is going to get very stale very fast.

It's enjoyable because it's shitty dad jokes presented in an earnest format. I can't even call it a good comic but you can like it for its simplicity. Also I enjoy that the artist draws fursuits with static expressions and blank eyes instead of just drawing an anthro with seams, it lends itself to the low key absurdity of the dad jokes desu

When I was like 8-12 and played around in my living room/backyard a lot, I would usually have a bunch of "storylines" to base my various fights with nothing on. Most were direct rip-offs of anime I liked like Naruto and DBZ and all that shit.

One however, one of the original ideas, was that of an OC I made (never drew, I'm shit at art and knew it) that was basically what could be described as a buff anthro dragon with gold scales and had lightning powers and a cool sword and wore pants but no shirt.

As a kid I just thought it looked cool. Didn't even learn about furries until about a year after I grew out of that phase. To this day I still think lightning powers are the shit, too.

I recall the big one I loved as a kid was the idea of having electricity surge through a sword; saw some Naruto manga panels online and thought that was fucking awesome at the time.

Another that comes to mind was that he "unlocked" (aka I came up with it so I inserted it into the story) the ability to fill the air around him in a dome of invisible static electricity, and then he could snap his fingers to cause one particular spot to get a big jolt. I think that one came from a combination of watching Piccolo do Hellzone Grenade in DBZ games, that one fight in the YuYu Hakusho Dark Tournament with Kurama in that dome of mist, and maybe that episode of Ed, Edd, & Eddy where Ed does the static electricity (I forget when that aired, maybe it was well after and I'm mixing up memories).
