Well you need to understand they mashed together two books in this show. Squirrel Girl and Mr. Immortal are most associated with Great Lakes Avengers, particurally run by Dan Slott and one-shot where they team-up with Deadpool. New Warriors have longer history, including 75-issues series in the 90's, early 00's comedic New Warriors vol.2 this seems to be most strongly based on, few years of barren wasteland and then short-living action-themed New Warriors vol.4 by Chris Yost.

Well, this particular version looks like it's Slott's GLA + Wells' New Warriors, so if you want something like what the show is probably going to end up being, check those two out. Only like 12 issues total between the two of them so it won't take you long.

Beyond that, I really like the 90s New Warriors run.
