Name another adult animated comedy that comes close to having themes that are as consistent or as personal as the show's sense of nihilism.

All I can think of is Venture Bros, Boondocks and Moral Orel. Two of those have been over for years and Venture is on one of its years long breaks. R&M may not be deep, but compared to most popular shows like Family Guy or modern Simpsons it's the fucking Mariana Trench. It makes sense people would call it deep when all they really have to compare it to are its shallow competitors. They exaggerate, but if you can think of a "deeper" adult comedy cartoon that's started in the past decade I'd love to hear it.
